I developed Temple while walking through a disputed season of my life. With tramendous loss, big change, and the burden of insecurities and fears looming over me. The desire of spiritual maturity in Jesus led me on a path of pursuing excellence in all aspects of my life. The story of Joseph in the book of Genesis quickly became an inspiring all time favorite. Here was a long-promised son who alway
s pursued excellence in all his fluctuating life circumstances. In the face of so much suffering, one might think Joseph would turn away from God out of bitterness and mistrust. But instead he remained honorable and true. Joseph is a great example of what it looks like to pursue excellence in times of trial and times of favor. I would not have had the ability to create an environment in which value, integrity, and beauty dwell. In the beauty industry perfection is the focus. But perfection is unattainable. It doesn’t allow any room for fault. But Temple was built postured by the pursuit of excellence. Excellence recognizes brokenness yet chooses to pursue the good in everyone and every situation. As an esthetician & beauty expert for over a decade, & spray tan artist for 7 plus years; I’ve had the opportunity to witness common misconceptions about how we should look and feel about ourselves and our beauty. I’ve heard stories of deep suffering, shed tears whether of anger or joy. And of course listened to countless others compare themselves. And I’m guilty of this too. It’s the thought of never being good enough or satisfied enough. In my spiritual journey, I’ve learned to love people, to nurture a servant heart and a joy-filled life. To listen without judgement, to empathize, and encourage. As we are all one of one, made in the image of the Most High. My job is to help maintain, educate and/or support the needs of others. And the best part, I get to do it the fun way; with spray tans,skin-care, & teeth whitening. At Temple that’s what the experience is all about. Pursuing excellence, valuing the customer, while filling a need. After all, isn’t that what this world could use more of? Filling the needs of others. My mission was to create a space where beauty begins with love. Inspired by the one who delighted in us and loved us first.
