🚦🦷 TRT Implant of the Week: RUNNING THE YELLOW LIGHT! 🟡

Green light? Easy. 🟢

Red light? Hit the brakes! 🔴

Yellow light? Well… how good are you at driving? 😎

This week we’re running the yellow light with a sinus bump!

Not quite enough vertical bone for our implant? No problem. A little planning, a guided osteotomy, a gentle sinus bump, and we’re back on the road! 🚗💨

But remember, in 3D Dentisting™, yellow doesn’t mean FLOOR IT! It means know what you’re doing, understand the risks, and proceed with caution.

Because the only thing worse than running a yellow light is seeing red during your sinus bump! 😳

🦷 TRT Tip of the Week: The Best Implant Guide Is the One You Didn’t Have to Make! 😂

This week I was out lecturing instead of doing dentistry! 🎤

Big shoutout to Spring Hill Smiles and Todd Larrabee for having me! What a great time!

Meanwhile, back at the office, my amazing implant coordinator was busy designing and 3D printing surgical guides for next week’s implant surgeries. 🖥️🦷

I was out talking about guided surgery… while someone else was actually DOING the work! 😂

That’s what 3D Dentisting™ is all about! Building systems, training your team, and realizing that the dentist doesn’t have to push every button!

Turns out the smartest person in the office might not be the one with DDS after their name. 🤣

🦷 TRT Tip of the Week: The Guided Implant Surgical Recipe 👨‍🍳

Today we’re cooking up a guided implant.

Ingredients:
🦴 1 well-selected ridge
📸 1 CBCT
🖥️ 1 beautiful intraoral scan
🧠 A generous scoop of planning
🖨️ 1 surgical guide
🔩 1 Neodent implant
💦 Copious irrigation
📈 A dash of ISQ
😎 And absolutely NO freestyle seasoning

Directions:
Scan it. Plan it. Print it. Guide it. Place it. ISQ it. Scan it again.

Bake for approximately 3 months…

Then top with one screw-retained crown. 👑

The secret ingredient?

Do all the thinking BEFORE you pick up the drill.

That’s not cheating.

Another 3D Dentists TRT is in the books—and apparently the secret to looking like you know what you’re doing is surrounding yourself with really talented people. 😂

Seriously, what a week.

Huge THANK YOU to everyone who attended, taught, supported, assisted, planned, scanned, printed, grafted, placed implants…and kept the train on the tracks.

The people are what make TRT special. Everyone shows up ready to learn, teach, help each other and get better.

My advice?

Find people better than you. Hang around them until some of it rubs off. 😂

Expose implant. ✅
Seat crown. ✅
Torque it. ✅
Buccal flap? Leave it alone. 😂

No suture. No wrestling match. No need to sew everything you touch.

Sometimes the best suture is… no suture. 🪡🚫

Picking the right healing abutment size 🦷

Height can be measured right on your implant planning software — no guesswork needed. We recommend placing Neodent implants 2mm sub-crestal, so if you want 2mm of abutment showing above the gingiva, the 4.5mm gingival height is your pick.

For diameter, I like going wide on a molar — that’s why I chose the 5.5mm here.

Small decision, big impact on healing and tissue contour. This is the kind of detail we cover live at TRT. Picking the right healing abutment size 🦷
