It’s National Oral Health Month! 🦷🪥
Your oral health affects more than just your smiles, and a lot of the little things you do every day can make a bigger impact than you realize. 👀
A few interesting facts:
• Cavities are one of the most common chronic diseases, but also one of the most preventable
• Bleeding gums are NOT normal and can be an early sign of gum disease
• Mouth breathing while sleeping can dry out your mouth and increase cavity risk 😴
• Your enamel is the hardest substance in your body, but once it wears away, it can’t grow back
A few underrated habits that can help protect your smile:
• Drink water after coffee, soda, or energy drinks to help reduce acid exposure and staining ☕
• Wait about 30 minutes to brush after acidic foods or drinks to help protect enamel
• Replace your toothbrush after being sick 🤧
• Avoid constant snacking throughout the day because your teeth stay under repeated acid attacks
Don't forget: oral health is whole body health. 🙌
