Proud to present the Kings Character Awards on behalf of myself, Dr. Eric Hickman and Matt Redder. While many scholarships are merit based, ours focuses on students who exude kindness, servant hearts and compassion. As I stated in my speech, hard work and effort can get you far, but character is also an important prerequisite to success. We wish all of our graduates much success in their next chapter! 🎉

Congratulations to Megan Elleman, BS, RDH and Tia Corris, EFDA on graduation!! Both ladies worked hard to complete their degrees, taking no days off, studying at lunch and on the weekends. Tia will now be permitted to place fillings and create crowns, just like Donna! So proud of you ladies 🎉

We’ve said it for quite awhile, but the evidence and consensus are now published. Antibiotics before dental cleanings and procedures is ineffective at best and potentially dangerous for some. The risk of an adverse event from taking antibiotics is much more likely than a joint infection directly related to a dental cleaning. If you have any questions or concerns we are happy to address!

Expanders have arrived at Mason Elite Dentistry! My own daughter has been through tonsil+adenoid surgery, sleep study, myofunctional therapy + tongue-tie release, supplements with iron but still can’t get through most big days without drifting off in the car. She’s ground through her baby teeth enamel, occasionally snores and tends to have trouble in the afternoon getting through the day. By expanding her palate, we are increasing the surface area of the floor of the nasal cavity. This will allow more room for oxygen exchange and set Hallie up for a lifetime of easier breathing + better sleep. One thing every adult tongue-tie patient says “I wish my parents would have expanded my palate when I was young”.

While removable appliances aren’t the right fit for every kid, it was one bargain my own daughter was willing to take. Wear the expander or we will have to use the metal cage and key 🥴. I went through that journey myself and it’s not for the faint of heart.

Dr. Natalie Stewart is more than just an amazing dentist... she's also an Ironman! 💪

An Ironman race is a grueling long-distance triathlon featuring a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride, and a 26.2-mile marathon run, totaling 140.6 miles, with a 17-hour time limit for completion. Natalie Stewart, DMD and owner of Mason Elite Dentistry, completed both the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii and the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in Spain. Dr. Stewart trains 10-15 hours a week to accomplish her goals. On the horizon for 2026 is Ironman Lake Placid in New York, along with some half-distance races. How cool is she?!
