🦷 Do wisdom teeth always need to be removed? Not necessarily! While wisdom tooth removal is common, the decision depends on how the teeth are developing and whether they’re causing—or are likely to cause—problems for your oral health.

Wisdom teeth typically appear in the late teens or early adulthood. For some people, they come in normally and cause no issues. For others, there may not be enough room for them to grow properly, leading to impacted or partially erupted teeth.

🔎 Wisdom teeth removal may be recommended if you experience:
✔️ Pain or tenderness near the back of your mouth
✔️ Swelling or inflammation around the gums
✔️ Impacted or improperly positioned wisdom teeth
✔️ Tooth decay or difficulty keeping the area clean
✔️ Crowding or damage to neighboring teeth

✨ So, should your wisdom teeth come out?
The best way to know is through a dental evaluation. Your dentist can examine your mouth and use X-rays to see how your wisdom teeth are positioned and determine whether removal is necessary.

📅 Concerned about your wisdom teeth? Don’t wait for pain or swelling to become a bigger problem. Schedule an appointment with Maryville Family Dental today! Our team can evaluate your wisdom teeth and help determine the best next step for your smile.
