Wright Street Dental is seeking applications for a dental assistant to join our team.

Successful candidates will have the ability to multitask and good customer service.
Responsibilities will include: Assisting the dentist with daily procedures, taking patient x-rays, keeping the lab clean and organized and helping the office complete daily tasks. Experience is helpful but we are willing to train the right person.

Ida Gray was the first African American female dentist, she attended the University of Michigan in 1887 and practiced in Chicago.

She was also passionate about civic engagement Dr. Gray was also the vice president of the Professional Women’s Club of Chicago, the vice president of the Eighth Regiment Ladies’ Auxiliary, and a member of the Phyllis Wheatley Club — a group that worked to maintain the only black women’s center in Chicago.

March is Women's History month! There have been many women that have helped shape dentistry to what it is today. Over the next month we will be highlighting some of those women on our page.

First up is Emeline Roberts Jones, the first female dentist in the United States. Her career spanned 6 decades and in 1914 was made an honorary member of the National Dental Association!
