🦷 Signs Your Child May Need an Orthodontic Evaluation

Wondering if your child might benefit from an orthodontic evaluation? Here are a few things parents can watch for:

👀 Crowded or overlapping teeth
↔️ Teeth that stick out or don’t line up properly
🦷 Overbite, underbite, crossbite, or open bite
😮 Frequent mouth breathing
🗣️ Difficulty chewing or biting
🦷 Early, late, or irregular loss of baby teeth
😬 Jaw shifting, clicking, or discomfort

You don’t have to wait until something looks obviously wrong. The American Association of Orthodontists recommends an initial orthodontic evaluation by age 7.

An evaluation doesn’t necessarily mean your child needs braces. Sometimes, the best plan is simply to monitor their growth and development.
