🚨 WHAT’S HIDING UNDER THOSE VENEERS?! 😳🦷

Watching veneers come off can be shocking—but veneer removal isn’t just about taking off a thin “cover.”

Depending on the type of veneers and how the teeth were prepared, the dentist may uncover:

🦷 Natural tooth structure
🕳️ Recurrent decay
🩸 Inflamed or irritated gums
⚠️ Cracks or weakened areas
🦠 Buildup around the edges

And here’s something people don’t always realize: some veneers require removal of a small amount of natural tooth structure before placement.

That’s why veneers should be planned carefully and placed by a qualified dental professional.

✨ Veneers can create an incredible smile transformation—but your natural teeth underneath still need to be protected.

📌 Thinking about veneers? Save this Reel and share it with someone who thinks veneers are just stickers for your teeth. 😅

🚨 WHEN THE GUM STARTS GROWING OVER A BROKEN TOOTH… IT CAN LOOK TERRIFYING. 😳🦷

A severely broken or decayed tooth can leave sharp edges, deep cavities, and open spaces where bacteria and food can collect.

Over time, the surrounding gum tissue may become chronically inflamed and swollen, and it can partially grow or fold over the remaining tooth structure—making it look like the gum is swallowing the tooth.

But here’s the important part 👇

🦷 The tooth may be severely fractured or decayed
🦠 Bacteria can collect in the openings
🔥 The surrounding gum can become inflamed or infected
📉 The tooth may become difficult or impossible to restore
⚠️ In some cases, the tooth may require root canal treatment, extraction, or other treatment depending on how much healthy tooth remains

And no—the gum covering the tooth doesn’t mean the problem has healed.

If you have a broken tooth with swelling or tissue growing around it, get it evaluated by a dentist before the infection or damage gets worse.

📌 A broken tooth can hide a much bigger problem underneath the gum.

🚨 PLAQUE LOOKS HARMLESS… UNTIL IT STARTS CAUSING DAMAGE. 😳🦷

Plaque is a sticky film of bacteria that constantly forms on your teeth. If it isn’t removed regularly, it can trigger inflammation around the gums. 🦠🔥

Over time, that can lead to:

🩸 Bleeding and swollen gums
😮‍💨 Persistent bad breath
🦷 Cavities and tooth decay
📉 Gum recession
🦴 Bone loss from periodontal disease
😬 Loose or shifting teeth in advanced cases

And if plaque hardens into tartar (calculus), brushing and flossing alone won’t remove it.

The scary part? Early gum disease may cause little or no pain, even while damage is developing.

🪥 Brush twice a day.
🧵 Clean between your teeth every day.
🦷 Keep up with professional dental cleanings and exams.

Plaque is easy to remove. The damage it can contribute to is much harder to reverse.

🚨 IF A TOOTH MOVES THIS MUCH, SOMETHING IS WRONG. 😳🦷

A tooth that moves significantly—especially when surrounded by heavy plaque and tartar—is not something to ignore.

One possible cause is advanced periodontal disease, where bacteria and inflammation damage the tissues and bone that support the tooth.

Over time, this can lead to:

🦠 Heavy plaque and tartar buildup
🩸 Chronically inflamed or bleeding gums
📉 Gum recession
🦴 Loss of supporting bone
↔️ Teeth shifting or becoming increasingly loose
🦷 In severe cases, tooth loss

And here’s the scary part: periodontal disease can progress without severe pain.

That loose tooth isn’t just a cosmetic problem—it may be a sign that the structures holding it in place have been compromised.

⚠️ If an adult tooth feels loose, get it evaluated by a dentist or periodontist.

📌 Save this Reel & share it with someone who thinks a loose tooth is “no big deal.”

🚨 WAIT… ALL OF THAT CAME OFF ONE SET OF TEETH?! 😳🦷

What you’re seeing may look like a giant piece of “plaque,” but once plaque hardens, it becomes tartar (calculus)—and it can build up massively when it isn’t removed.

Underneath years of heavy buildup, a dentist may find:

🩸 Severely inflamed gums
🦠 Deep periodontal pockets
📉 Significant gum recession
🦴 Bone loss around the teeth
🦷 Decay or damaged tooth structure
😬 Loose teeth from loss of support

And here’s the important part: this kind of buildup doesn’t happen overnight.

Regular brushing and cleaning help prevent plaque from accumulating, but hardened tartar requires professional removal.

🦷 That “giant piece” may be satisfying to watch come off—but the real goal is protecting the teeth and bone underneath.

📌 Save this Reel & share it with someone who hasn’t had a dental cleaning in way too long! 😂

🚨 SILVER FILLINGS: ARE THERE BETTER OPTIONS TODAY? 😳🦷

Those classic silver-colored fillings are called amalgam fillings, and they’ve been used in dentistry for decades.

But today, dentists also have tooth-colored alternatives, such as composite resin—and in certain situations, ceramic or other restorative materials may be appropriate.

So what’s the difference? 👇

🩶 Amalgam: durable, cost-effective, and often useful for certain large restorations.

🤍 Composite: tooth-colored, blends in with your smile, and can often be bonded directly to the tooth.

✨ Ceramic: highly aesthetic and can be a good option for certain larger restorations, depending on the tooth and situation.

But there’s no single “best” filling for everyone. Your dentist considers the size and location of the cavity, how much tooth remains, your bite, aesthetics, durability, and overall oral health.

⚠️ And if you already have a silver filling that is functioning well, don’t automatically assume it needs to be removed. Replacement should be based on your individual dental needs.

🦷 Dentistry has evolved—and today we have more restorative options than ever.

📌 Save this Reel & send it to someone who still has silver fillings!

🚨 THAT GIANT TARTAR BUILDUP COULD BE HIDING MORE THAN YOU THINK. 😳🦷

When calculus gets this large, it can completely cover parts of the teeth and gumline—making it difficult to see what’s happening underneath.

Once that buildup is removed, a dentist may discover:

🦠 Deep gum pockets caused by periodontal disease
📉 Significant gum recession
🦴 Bone loss around the teeth
🦷 Cavities or decay hidden beneath the buildup
😬 Loose or mobile teeth from loss of support
🔥 Severely inflamed or infected gums

And here’s the shocking part: the tartar itself may be only the visible portion of a much deeper problem.

Large calculus deposits don’t appear overnight. They develop when plaque remains on the teeth and hardens over time—and once it becomes tartar, a toothbrush can’t simply remove it.

🦷 What looks like “just a lot of tartar” could be covering significant damage underneath.

📌 Save this Reel & share it with someone who keeps putting off their dental cleaning.

🚨 THE CROWN LOOKED FINE… BUT LOOK WHAT WAS HIDING UNDERNEATH. 😳🦷

A dental crown can cover and protect a tooth, but it doesn’t make the tooth immune to decay.

If bacteria get underneath or around a crown—especially when there’s a poor seal, recurrent decay, or inadequate oral hygiene—the tooth can continue to break down underneath where you can’t easily see it. 🦠

By the time the crown is removed, the tooth may look severely decayed, weakened, or even unsalvageable. 😬

🚩 Warning signs can include:
🦷 Pain or sensitivity
😮‍💨 Bad taste or odor
🩸 Swollen or bleeding gums around the crown
🍬 Food getting trapped around it
⚠️ A crown that feels loose or different

And sometimes… there may be very few symptoms at all.

That’s why regular dental exams and X-rays can be so important—even when your crown looks perfectly normal from the outside.

🦷 What you can’t see can still be destroying the tooth underneath.

📌 Save this Reel & share it with someone who thinks a crown means they never have to worry about that tooth again.

🚨 THAT GIANT PUS BUMP ON THE GUMS IS NOT “JUST A BUMP.” 😳🦷

A large pus-filled bump on the gums can be a sign of a dental or periodontal abscess—meaning there may be an active infection underneath.

What can be happening below the surface? 👇

🦠 Bacteria enter and multiply
🔥 The surrounding tissues become inflamed
🟡 Pus can build up and form a swollen bump
🦴 The infection can potentially damage the tissues and bone supporting the tooth

And here’s the important part: if the bump drains and gets smaller, that doesn’t necessarily mean the infection is gone. The source of the infection may still be present.

⚠️ Don’t squeeze, pop, or try to drain it yourself. Get it evaluated by a dentist as soon as possible.

🚨 If you develop facial swelling, fever, difficulty swallowing, or trouble breathing, seek urgent medical care.

🦷 A bump on the gums can be your body’s warning sign that something underneath needs attention.

📌 Save this Reel & share it with someone who thinks a gum “pimple” is harmless.
