What is this funny little brush, you wonder? We'd love to tell you (and your gums will love you for trying one). 🤓

A sulcus brush has been a favorite of ours for many years. This tiny angled brush is perfect for the hardest-to-reach areas such as the very back molars, behind the lower front teeth, or areas with unusual gaps or spacing. The pointed tuft of bristles removes plaque and stimulates the gum tissue.

While the original Sulcabrush is no longer made, Gum and Tepe brands both have similar brushes that we stock in the office. 🦷

Hate flossing? We’ve got you! Interdental brushes are a great way to clean between the teeth, around implants, and under bridges or orthodontic wires. They come in a variety of sizes to fit spaces that are big, small, or in-between. Research indicates interdental brushes can be more effective than flossing at removing plaque and reducing gum inflammation.
And yup - we’ve got samples for you! 🦷

Water flossers are another favorite tool for gum health here at Fromuth Dental. Whether you have braces, dental implants, a fixed bridge, bleeding gums, or just an aversion to dental floss, a water flosser can help! Both countertop models or a cordless handheld are great options. Waterpik and Philips Sonicare are our two most recommended brands. We have Philips Sonicare Cordless Power Flossers available for purchase here - come with your questions and check them out! 💧🦷

September is National Gum Care Month and we are here for it! 🩷 This month we'll be highlighting some of our team's favorite products to support gum health.
Smart floss is textured and expands as you use it, letting it remove more plaque than thin and slippery floss. It can still fit in tight spaces and is gentler on the gums. If you haven't tried it yet, ask for a sample at your next visit! We have large spools available for purchase also.

Our other favorite brands of textured floss include Cocofloss, Xlent, and Burst.

Don't forget though, good floss is only effective if you use it…and use it correctly! 🦷

Meet PoviOne: a superhero for your mouth!
Studies suggest applying 10% povidone-iodine before a sodium fluoride varnish treatment can reduce new dental caries (cavities) by up to 70%, compared to 40% with fluoride alone. Povidone-Iodine has also been shown to be effective in fighting periodontal and fungal pathogens that can lead to other oral diseases, such as gum disease and oral thrush (candidiasis).
