Do not take that impression yet.

If the tissue bleeds on probing it is still moving. The margin you capture today is not the margin in two weeks — the tissue rebounds, the crown does not.

How long do you wait after tissue management before you scan?

Nobody sees this part of the job.

Dentin body first, then the incisal, then translucent enamel on top. Each layer is fired separately, and each firing changes the one underneath.

What is a realistic turnaround for a single layered anterior?

It is not the shade that gives a repair away.

It is the halo — the thin translucent band at the incisal edge. Rebuild the body shade perfectly and skip the halo, and it still reads as fake from across the room.

Composite or veneer on a chip this size?

This filling looked fine on the surface.

Underneath it the decay never stopped — it just went where nobody could see it. By the time it reads clearly on a radiograph the undermined enamel is already gone.

Do you warn the patient the prep might grow before you start, or when it does?

The crown is almost never the problem.

Moisture control at cementation decides whether it lasts. One drop under the margin and the bond is compromised before the patient stands up — six months later it reads as a lab problem.
