PRESS RELEASE • Affordable Dental Care receives grant from Delta Dental of Wisconsin Foundation to support new technology.
February 2021 — Madison, WI. Delta Dental of Wisconsin Foundation (DDWIF) and Affordable Dental Care (ADC) have teamed up to introduce CEREC technology in ADC’s dental clinic. The grant from DDWIF helped purchase a CEREC machine, which will save patients both time and money.
A CEREC machine allows dental care providers the ability to perform same-day restorations with digital crown and bridge technology. The machine used 3D scans to produce ceramic crowns to match the exact shape and size of a patient’s tooth. This means patients at ADC can receive the care they need in one visit instead of multiple appointments.
ADC is focused on restoring hope, health, and opportunity through quality dentistry to the uninsured, at-risk population of Madison, Wisconsin and surrounding communities. They do not accept insurance and do not compete with private practice dentistry or government community healthcare, but instead aim to fill the gap and assist low-income patients who don’t qualify for Medicaid/Badgercare. ADC offers complete general dentistry, including cleanings, X-rays, fillings, crowns, bridges, dentures, partials, and more.
“Ensuring access to dental care for vulnerable populations, which includes helping to reduce costs for expensive procedures, is indeed part of our mission,” stated Ann Boson, executive director of the Delta Dental of Wisconsin Foundation. “Affordable Dental has taken that step to provide lower cost bridges and crowns for low-income adults without dental insurance, and we’re proud to provide a grant to purchase the equipment needed to make that possible.”
“The ongoing partnership with Delta Dental of Wisconsin Foundation, and most recently this grant to incorporate the CEREC technology, is a major key in closing the gap in the crisis of access to quality dental care,” said Krysta Wetzel, executive director of Affordable Dental Care. “As we head into a year where our supply costs are at an all-time high due to the pandemic, we are thrilled with how this technology will help reduce both visits and material costs associated with traditionally expensive crown and bridge procedures.
