Please join us as we collect tuna for the Haitian Health Foundation.

Begun 20 years ago by Dr. Miller's colleague Dr. Jerry Lowney, HHF serves the poorest people in our hemisphere. Dr. Miller has travelled there often with her husband and has seen first hand the suffering these beautiful people endure.

When Dr. Miller is at HHF, volunteers often journey by mule with supllies on his back, and cross rivers and streams to get to a village. Every patient pays a fee, close to 25 cents (US) to particiapte. Clinics are set up under the shade of woven palms where medical and dental care is offered. All patients have journeyed by foot, most for many hours to attend. Some times their complaints are small; infections of the feet, cuts that cannot heal, teeth that are abcessed and now need to be taken out. Other times they have fabric wrapped around an abcessed face, a gangrenous arm, or a cancer that has run out of control.

During February break, we have a few friends who will be making their pilgramage there, and are willing to take an extra suitcase. When a patient comes to see Dr. Miller there, she always leaves them with something to eat. Food is scarce, healing takes nutrition.

If at all possible, please donate to our tuna collection here in the office. You may leave any tuna or spam you wish in our collection
box. Donations received, from our book exchange as well, will continue to buy food for our hungry friends in Haiti.

A new year's resolution for all our patients: Maintain your optimum oral health!
Do this by following your recommended treatment plan by Dr. Miller.
Don't forget simple care for good oral hygiene: brush your teeth 2x a day; clean between teeth with floss on a daily basis; replace your toothbrush every 3-4 months; maintain a well balanced diet; visit your dentist as scheduled for cleanings.
