Dr. Moffett’s favorite time of year is almost here…fall. Which means sports, cooler weather (maybe…) and most importantly hunting season! 😎.

We were so blessed this summer having Annalyse work with us while she was on break from school! 🙌.

She is so sweet, such a hard worker, and just a joy to be around. We hate to see her go, but are excited for her and she continues on her journey to becoming a nurse!!

This 9 year old patient came to see us in June of this past summer, and the mom was concerned about the underbite and recession on the lower teeth.

It is important to address bite issues like this at an early age because they can influence growth negatively, create other issues (such as recession on lower teeth) and alter the eruption of other permanent teeth.

Most people assume braces or Invisalign are the only way to fix things like this, but Dr. Moffett was able to design and order a special hawley retainer with springs that fixed the underbite in ONLY 7 weeks! The patient wore it faithfully this summer, needed 1 adjustment appointment, and showed up last week with it perfect!!

Now his bite is normal, and he gets to start back school with a new, wonderful bite and still doesn’t have braces!

In addition, the lower recession should slowly improve over time now that the lower incisors are not being pushed on from behind due to the underbite that the patient started with!

Cases like this show why it is important to bring your child starting around age 7-8 to a Board-Certified Orthodontic Specialist like Dr. Moffett & Dr. Garvey to analyze everything from eruption pattern and tooth angulation to facial growth and smile esthetics- if you are interested or curious about your child, please call and set up a complimentary consultation at a time that works for you in either our Madison, Clinton, or Brandon office!!

July is National Cleft and Craniofacial Awareness Month, and we had a VERY SPECIAL VISITOR yesterday!! ❤️

Our sweet Johnnie Lane came by the office to visit, and we LOVED every second of it!

Dr. Moffett treated her with NAM (nasoalveolar molding) when she was an infant, and now she just turned 2! 🎂

She is the sweetest girl, and she captivated our entire office! We are so proud of her and all she’s been through!

We will post more photos of her transformation soon, but for now everyone can just enjoy seeing photos from yesterday! 😀
