🚨 “It didn’t even hurt… until it broke.”

One of the biggest misconceptions in dentistry is that if a tooth doesn’t hurt, it’s healthy. Unfortunately, many cracked teeth stay painless until they fracture, become infected, or require a root canal—or even an extraction.

A small crack is usually much easier (and less expensive) to treat than a broken tooth.

He Hadn't Been to a Dentist in 10 Years... Then Everything Changed...

This gentleman came to MyDental before retirement to make sure everything was okay.

He hadn't been to a dentist in more than 10 years.

A previous root canal had failed, and an infection was quietly growing around the roots of the tooth. During a routine anesthetic injection, the abscess began draining immediately.

A real patient. A real consequence of waiting too long.

In this video, Dr. Marina Shurova discusses a case where an impacted wisdom tooth damaged the neighboring molar. What started as a hidden problem eventually led to pain, infection, swelling, and the need for more extensive treatment.

Many dental problems develop quietly. By the time symptoms appear, significant damage may have already occurred.

The good news? Most of these issues can be detected early with routine dental exams and X-rays.

We recommend a comprehensive dental checkup and X-rays at least twice a year to identify problems before they become emergencies.

Don't wait until you're in pain. Prevention is easier, less expensive, and far more comfortable than treating advanced disease.
