A growing body of research continues to show a strong association between oral health and cardiovascular health. When plaque and bacteria build up—especially when nighttime brushing is skipped—it can lead to gum inflammation and allow harmful bacteria to enter the bloodstream. Over time, this may contribute to systemic inflammation, which is a known factor associated with heart disease.

Routine dental cleanings play an important role in prevention by helping remove plaque and tartar buildup that brushing and flossing alone may miss. Professional cleanings also allow your dental team to monitor gum health closely and identify signs of inflammation or periodontal disease early—before they progress into larger oral and overall health concerns.

Rainy Thursdays are the perfect reminder to slow down, reset, and listen to what your body may be trying to tell you ☔️🦷

One symptom many people try to “wait out” is tooth pain — but discomfort in the mouth is often your body’s way of signaling that something deeper may be going on.

Tooth pain isn’t always “just a toothache.”

Inside every tooth is the dental pulp — a small space filled with highly sensitive nerves directly connected to the trigeminal nerve, one of the main nerves responsible for sensation in your face and jaw.

That’s why even a small cavity, crack, infection, or area of inflammation can suddenly feel intense, sharp, throbbing, or even unbearable.

When irritation reaches the nerve, the body reacts quickly — and pain can sometimes travel into the jaw, ear, head, or surrounding teeth.

Ignoring these symptoms can allow infection or damage to worsen over time, potentially leading to more extensive treatment later on.

🚨 Signs you shouldn’t ignore:
• Persistent tooth pain
• Sensitivity to hot or cold
• Pain when biting or chewing
• Swelling of the gums or face
• Throbbing pain that keeps you awake
