A coalition of dental professionals, parents, teachers, advocates & many businesses working together

The Kentucky Oral Health Coalitions will;

To actively participate, communicate and encourage relationships of the Kentucky Oral Health Coalition with other advocacy groups in promoting oral and overall health for everyone residing in the Commonwealth;

To promote and encourage active interaction, effective collaboration and cooperation between all providers of oral and general health care and individuals within the population of Kentucky that need oral health services, prevention and education through the establishment of public-private partnerships by 2014;

To advocate for improved access to oral and general health prevention, services and education for all residents of the Commonwealth by 2020.

KOHC is excited to host our annual meeting on Friday, December 11, 2026 from 10:00AM – 4:00PM ET in-person at the Bluegrass Community and Technical College in Lexington, Kentucky. We look forward to bringing together leaders in the oral health community, policymakers, oral health advocates, professionals, and students. KOHC members will have the opportunity to vote on the Coalition’s policy agenda for 2027.

As the students across the state are officially back in school, we would like to share our small part in helping some students get oral health care resources. This summer we tabled at La Casita Center's Back to School event, offering dental kits and oral health education materials in Spanish.

Kentucky’s Kindergarteners are Missing out on Required Dental Screenings🦷

In our last June Quarterly Meeting we were joined by Karena Cash, Data and Research Director for Kentucky Youth Advocates, who shared concerning data on oral health screenings among Kentucky’s kindergarteners. Under Kentucky law, children entering public kindergarten are required to have a dental screening or exam on file. Yet in the 2024–25 school year, only 39% of Kentucky kindergarteners received a dental screening. Guest Blog: KOHC at the National Oral Health Conference

Jennifer Harrison, MPH, RDH, representing KOHC's steering committee attended the National Oral Health Conference this year in Oklahoma City. At this conference, the palpable energy and intellect from presenters motivated the connection amongst attendees.
