Greetings, Boulder County friends!
For the past 15 years, our practice has had 100% of patients receiving bleach trays write a check to Habitat for Humanity.
This Spring, for the first time since the pandemic, our local high schools are putting together an inclusive After-Prom event meant to promote local school spirit and keep our community's students in a safe environment.
For the next two months, we will encourage every new bleach tray patient to donate the $250 bleach tray fee to the local high school of their choice. Dr. Mike, being a proud graduate of Fairview High School, will of course encourage all un-tethered bleach tray donations to be steered to the combined Boulder-Fairview After-Prom efforts.

Many of you received a letter from Cigna detailing our office going out of network. While this information is true, the letter leaves a lot of unanswered questions.

First, YOU CAN STILL COME TO SEE US!
Many plans have out of network options, and the difference in cost to most patients is nominal, if any. Check your plan!

Second, why did we go out of network with Cigna?
Unfortunately, Cigna recently decided that while it raised insurance premiums for all of you, it was DROPPING reimbursements to all dentists.

In our office, this amounted to an additional 10-25% reduction, which were already 75% of our full fee. With inflation at 9%, and a post-covid world filled with less supply and more demand, our costs have skyrocketed. The math was such that we would be paying money every time we would see an in-network patient.

Now, there are two ways to combat this. Some offices take the cut, but use cheaper labs, cheaper materials, and run accelerated hygiene (your cleaning is done in 30 mins) and EDDAs (assistants do your fillings) to combat the loss. This is not up to our standard at Louisville Family Dental; we will never sacrifice your care to play nice with an insurance company.

Therefore, we had to make the tough, but necessary decision to move away from their in-network status.

If you wish to call Cigna directly, or talk to your HR person regarding this change, we highly encourage it.

And as always, please call us with questions. Your dental health is our utmost priority, and we can't wait to see your smiles again at the office!

WOW!!!!!

With everyone's help, we were able to raise over $7,000 in donations to our local American Red Cross to help those impacted by the Marshall Fires.

As we promised, we have matched the first $5,000, for a grand total of $13,070!!!
