THE MOM WHO FORGOT HER SMILE
(Until It Remembered Her)
There once was a mom—let's call her Claire,
Who handled everything, everywhere.
Lunches? Packed.
Homework? Checked.
Soccer, ballet—never a wreck.
She tied their shoes and wiped the tears,
She managed chaos year by year.
She found lost socks at 6:02,
And somehow knew just what to do.
But tucked away, behind it all…
Her own care started to quietly fall.
Her floss? "Tomorrow."
Her checkups? "Soon."
Her smile dimmed, like a tired moon.
She'd grin for photos—quick and tight,
Then turn her head just out of sight.
"It's nothing," she'd say, brushing it off—
With a busy laugh and a gentle cough.
(You know that laugh—the "I'm fine" one…
The one that says everything but.)
Now here's where life gets just a bit wise—
Not loud or dramatic, no flashing skies.
No thunder clap, no grand parade—
Just a quiet moment… one choice she made.
It came one night, no crowd, no cheer,
Just her reflection in the mirror.
Kids in bed, the house gone still…
And there she stood—just her… and will.
She looked and thought (not loud, not grim):
"When did I stop showing up for me… like I do for them?"
No guilt. No shame.
No heavy tone.
Just a simple truth—softly known.
So she made a call.
A small first step.
(Not a marathon—just one rep.)
And when she came in, a little unsure,
We met her gently—that's for sure.
No lectures here. No wagging heads.
No "you should've done this" or "you should've said."
Just a chair, a light, a calm, kind space—
And time to meet her, face to face.
We talked. We laughed. (Yes—really, we did.)
About life, and schedules, and being a mom-kid.
And slowly, something shifted inside—
Not just her teeth… but something like pride.
Her smile didn't just come back that day…
It remembered her… in a deeper way.
So here's to the moms who give and give,
Who make sure everyone else can live.
Who show up strong, who carry it all—
Even when they feel small.
This Mother's Day, we'll say it clear:
You matter too. You belong here.
Your care is not a luxury or trend—
It's how your story continues to bend.
Toward strength.
Toward joy.
Toward something true…
Because the people you love…
They're watching you.
And the greatest lesson you'll ever impart—
It's how you take care of your own heart. ❤
(And yes… that includes your smile.)
Happy Mother's Day
Warmly,
