Look who came in today!!! My 102 year old patient, Lynette, who has been with this office since before I took over in 1990 from Dr. Jack Tylicki. Sharp as a tack and it goes to show that good teeth can lead to good health and longevity!!!

Photo from our YMCA of Greater Long Beach Past Board Chairs and Incoming Chair Luncheon @ Virginia Country Club hosted by Past Chair Craig Dougherty.

It was both humbling and an honor to gather with so much knowledge about our YMCA, the good times and the tough times. I heard some great stories and received sage advice as I enter my 2 year term as Chair.

I grew up in the Y. Started at 5 years old in Indian Guides, on to Gray-Y sports programs, camper at Camp Whittle, camp counselor, a Red Ragger, High School Leaders Club, Downey Y BOD, LB YMCA Camp Oakes BOM and past Chair for YMCA Camp Oakes.

I am excited to work with so many dedicated, caring, giving, and spiritual people in our organization.

Saw this come across my feed. It is true that Delta is charging more to their subscribers, have not raised their maximums in decades, and have not increased reimbursements to dentists for close to 10 years.

Hello to all,
I would like to share with my friends and family that I was asked to be the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the YMCA of Greater Long Beach for the next 2 years. The YMCA of Greater Long Beach, through its eight branches, serves a population of over 816,000 in the cities of Long Beach, Signal Hill, Lakewood, Hawaiian Gardens, Bellflower, Paramount, Cerritos, Artesia, Los Alamitos, Rossmoor, Seal Beach and Big Bear (and expanding onto Catalina island with Youth & Government!). The Y offers programs, services and initiatives focused on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, according to the unique needs of the communities it engages.

I am a “Y” kid & I have been a member of the YMCA (Downey and then Long Beach) since I was 5 years old with Indian Guides, Gray-Y Sports, as a camp counselor, high school leaders club, Camp Oakes Board of Managers, and now as Board Chair. I look forward to working with a fantastic team at Metro led by Alfredo Velasco as well as all of our Branch leadership and support teams. I follow in the footsteps of some great people who put our communities and families first.

Superlative service beginning with the office personnel who welcomed me at 07:00AM to the “office manager” who assured me she would contact my insurance carrier and save me the hassle. At 82, I’ve visited my share of dental offices; none compared to this one.
