Hello to all,
I would like to share with my friends and family that I was asked to be the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the YMCA of Greater Long Beach for the next 2 years. The YMCA of Greater Long Beach, through its eight branches, serves a population of over 816,000 in the cities of Long Beach, Signal Hill, Lakewood, Hawaiian Gardens, Bellflower, Paramount, Cerritos, Artesia, Los Alamitos, Rossmoor, Seal Beach and Big Bear (and expanding onto Catalina island with Youth & Government!). The Y offers programs, services and initiatives focused on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, according to the unique needs of the communities it engages.

I am a “Y” kid & I have been a member of the YMCA (Downey and then Long Beach) since I was 5 years old with Indian Guides, Gray-Y Sports, as a camp counselor, high school leaders club, Camp Oakes Board of Managers, and now as Board Chair. I look forward to working with a fantastic team at Metro led by Alfredo Velasco as well as all of our Branch leadership and support teams. I follow in the footsteps of some great people who put our communities and families first.

Superlative service beginning with the office personnel who welcomed me at 07:00AM to the “office manager” who assured me she would contact my insurance carrier and save me the hassle. At 82, I’ve visited my share of dental offices; none compared to this one.

Sandra is exceptional. She is a thorough and a highly skilled dental hygienist, in addition, to being kind and friendly. Dr. Coates has been my dentist for 20 years. That speaks volumes.

I’m grateful for DDS Stephen Coates for over 30 years of
Taking care of mine and my family’s teeth!
He is the Best Dentist!
And Evelin my Hygienist, Absolutely the Best at cleaning my teeth!!!! I see her every 4 months for cleaning.
And all the Staff, kind, caring and diligent.
I strongly recommend the entire team!!!!

Amazing, lighthearted and professional - by Michael B.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Coates since we moved to Long Beach in 2015 and I can honestly say, he and his staff are absolutely amazing. It’s honestly like seeing your friends. The staff is amazing & professional while maintaining a sense of personalism and Dr. Coates is at the heart of it all, insightful, professional and chair side manner is quite fun. Been looking for a dentist since mine retired. He trained where my retired dentist taught.

Dr Coates doesn't make decisions off imaging only like some modern types, he also relies on in depth, hands on diagnosis.

Comfortable office, complimentary spring water, and the gals up front.. pleasant/helpful,; no attitude.

A great start so far. Hope to start treatment, soon.

Evelyn the hygienist did a good job in cleaning my teeth . She explained to me the right way to brush my teeth and recommend to use a mouthwash, the one without alcohol. Highly appreciated.
