One of our Chara Orthodontics partner practices: We C Kids in El Monte.

We partner with pediatric dentists and general dentists to bring orthodontic care directly into the practices and communities they already serve.

The practice keeps the relationship with the patient. We bring the orthodontist, ortho team, treatment planning, equipment, and support needed to provide braces and aligner treatment right inside the office.

It is a model we have built over more than 20 years, working alongside dentists rather than competing with them.

For my GP colleagues: one thing I always recommend looking for in younger patients is oral habits like thumb sucking and tongue thrusting.

I see tongue thrust in roughly 30% of the orthodontic consults I do, and many of these habits were never diagnosed early.

Around ages 7–8 is a great time to identify these problems while the arches and jaws are still developing.

What does orthodontics inside a partner dental practice actually look like?

Today Dr. Chara takes us inside Families Together of Orange County in Garden Grove, where Chara Orthodontics provides orthodontic care directly within the existing dental practice.

From dedicated operatories and consultation space to panoramic imaging, CT scanning, cephalometric imaging, and intraoral scanning, the team has the tools needed to provide comprehensive orthodontic treatment, including braces and clear aligners.

It is a model we have been building for more than 20 years: bringing the orthodontist, team, systems, and clinical support directly into established practices so patients can receive orthodontic care in a place they already know.

This practice bought a panoramic and CEPH machine after we started.
City Dental in South Gate has been a Chara partner for years. When we began, they did not have imaging in the building. A few months into the ortho service they decided they wanted it, and it changed how the office runs. Same day starts. All the records taken in house. Photographs, panoramic, CEPH, ready to go.
Since then they have added oral surgery, periodontics and endodontics. A comprehensive dental approach for everyone in the area, all under one roof.
One thing we bring to every partner office is a scanner. Patients get digital scans of their teeth instead of study models, and it doubles as a diagnostic tool. Parents can see the malocclusion in three dimensions instead of hearing us describe it or squinting at an X ray.
This is what a general practice looks like a few years into an ortho day.

Why an orthodontist spends the day at a DSO symposium 👇
At the Glidewell DSO Symposium in Irvine — looking at new technology, new workflows, and how the best group practices run their systems.
Here’s the thing about being a mobile orthodontic practice: whatever we learn here doesn’t stay with us. It goes into every partner practice we work with across Southern California.
Better imaging. Better workflow. Better care for the families in your chair.
That’s the job.

Come inside our North Hollywood office 🦷

Five years ago, this general dental practice didn’t offer orthodontics. Today: a four-chair ortho bay running full treatment days and the families here never have to leave the office they already trust.

That’s what we build. We bring the orthodontist, the ortho team, the instruments, and the materials. The practice brings the chairs and the patients. Everything under one roof.

And here’s the part I always tell doctors: you don’t need a bay like this to start. We run full ortho days out of one or two regular operatories in our partner offices. This is just what it can grow into.

If you’re a general dentist who’s ever wondered whether your ortho referrals should stay in your building — that’s a conversation I’d love to have over coffee. ☕

What an incredible few days at CDA Presents in Anaheim!

The Chara Orthodontics team had a wonderful time connecting with dentists, dental teams, and industry professionals at one of the West Coast’s leading dental events. CDA Presents brought together thousands of professionals for continuing education, hands-on learning, new technologies, and meaningful conversations about the future of dentistry.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, shared their time with us, and learned more about how Chara Orthodontics helps dental practices expand services by bringing orthodontic care to their office.

We’re grateful for the conversations, the new connections, and the opportunity to keep growing alongside such a passionate dental community.
