Rebuilding Bone Around Teeth/Treatment of Vertical Bone Loss on Teeth

🔹 Guided Tissue Regeneration Around Teeth 🔹

Implant treatment is a great treatment option for people who have lost their teeth, but the always better option is to save your teeth when the treatment will end with a solid tooth and prognosis.

Guided tissue regeneration is a relatively new treatment. The treatment resulted in saving and maintaining many teeth that were to be extracted. Periodontal disease is a bacterial infection that results in bone destruction and loss around the teeth and implants. Guided tissue regeneration is a game-changer that opened a new era in periodontal disease treatment, and saved teeth that were considered hopeless, and should be removed.

Guided Tissue Regeneration to rebuild the bone is the best treatment option.

The patient is a 68-year-female who presented with advanced bone loss and pocket depth
of 9 mm on the Mesial of tooth # 3.

The guided Tissue Regeneration procedure was performed with great success. Complete bone regeneration was achieved around tooth #3. The pocket depth around the tooth is 2- 3 mm. The tooth is healthy again. Our Patient is very happy.

🔹 Flapless Connective Tissue Graft (Minimally Invasive) 🔹

The Flapless Connective Tissue Graft procedure is a highly predictable procedure for treating gingival recession. It results in a stable, healthy band of attached tissue around the teeth.

Dr. Zakaria has invented, developed, and performed the Flapless Connective Tissue Graft (Minimally Invasive) for the last 16 years with great success and great results.

The patient is a 55-year-old male, who presented with an advanced recession, thin tissue complex (tissue and bone), horizontal bone loss, and sensitivity (thermal & functional) on
teeth # 8 and 11.

A Flapless Connective Tissue Graft (Minimally invasive) was performed.
Note the creation of New, Wide, and thick healthy gingival tissue (gum tissue). Despite the existing recession, complete coverage on teeth # 8 and 11 is achieved. Note the creation of thick keratinized tissue. Note the seamless integration of the new tissue & the existing tissue.

Peri-implantitis (bone loss around implants) is a disease caused by bacteria that destroys the bone around implants. Traumatic occlusion also plays a role in bone loss around the implants. Guided tissue regeneration to rebuild the bone is the best treatment option.

The patient is a 56-year-old Female who presented with advanced bone loss around implants # 4 and 5. The patient’s dental history indicated that the implant was placed a few years ago. Large bone loss is noted around the implant with a 7- 8 mm pocket depth around the implants.

The Guided Tissue Regeneration procedure was performed with great success, root structure was removed from the mesial of the implant. Good bone regeneration was achieved around
implants # 4 and 5. The pocket depth around the implant is 2-3 mm.

🔹 Implant Treatment & Ridge Augmentation 🔹

Dental Implant Treatment has evolved over the last 40 years. The improvements in the implant’s technology, in combination with the new surgical approaches, including the utilization of Minimally Invasive Techniques with a better understanding of bone physiology, bone healing, and soft tissue healing allowed for minimization of the bone remodeling on the crest of the implant and the elimination of bone loss around the implants. (in the 80s, 90s, and early 2000 this was an acceptable outcome).

The change resulted in a long-lasting impact on implant survival, reducing or eliminating the recession and maintaining the aesthetic results. Please don’t forget, that patient cooperation and following the instructions is an integral part of achieving the desired result.

“At Our Office, We Do Not Just Place Implants, We Place Implants That Look Like Natural Teeth."

• The patient is a 66-year-old male, who presented with a failing tooth # 10. Atraumatic removal of tooth # 10 and Minimally Invasive Implant Surgery placement with bone grafting were performed. After healing, the Custom Milled Abutment was designed, milled, and placed. Temporary crowns were placed. Great results were achieved.

The Minimally Invasive Ridge Augmentation

The Minimally Invasive Ridge Augmentation (Rebuilding the Bone) has been invented and developed by Dr. Zakaria over 29 years with a success rate of over 97%.

The patient is a 48-year-old female, who presented with a fractured root on tooth # 19, with advanced bone loss, and large radiolucency in the areas of tooth # 30. The tooth has a hopeless prognosis.

Atraumatic surgical extraction, and The Minimally Invasive Ridge Augmentation was performed. The healing went uneventfully. The bone new bone was built, Implant was placed. After the healing, the Custom Milled Abutment was designed, milled, and placed. Temporary crowns were placed. Great results were achieved.
