Oral surgeons have a reputation for being a little gruff.

Dr. Williams doesn't love that reputation, and he actively works against it.

Instruments stay out of sight until they're actually needed, not lined up where a nervous patient has to look at them.

He also steers patients away from watching procedure videos online beforehand. It tends to add fear, not ease it.

The goal every time: patients leave feeling like it wasn't the traumatic experience they were bracing for.

Dr. Williams didn't set out to become an oral surgeon.

That changed after his younger brother went through a serious track accident, and he saw firsthand what the right oral maxillofacial surgeon could do for someone's recovery.

His path took him through pre-dental and pre-med studies at the University of Tampa, dental school at the University of Pennsylvania, and residency at LSU. His training covered everything from wisdom teeth and implants to TMJ and even head and neck cancer surgery.

That range is part of why routine procedures feel second nature to him now, even though he never loses sight of how much each one matters to the patient in the chair.

It's also why he opened FishHawk Oral & Facial Surgery. He wanted a practice that felt personal, fast access, real relationships with local dentists, and genuine involvement in the community, not just inside the office.
