Friends and Dental Family,

Due to the storm's catastrophic impact, our office will be closed Monday, September 30th, until power is restored and the office is accessible by safe routes. Please know we are doing everything possible to re-open as quickly as possible to serve the patients we love.

For those seeking information about the Elizabethton office of Dr. Lawson Hoover, we are sad to report the office is a total loss.

Please be patient with us as we do not have reliable access to cellular service. If you have a true dental emergency, email [email protected] or leave a voicemail on the office line (828)742-1612. We will do our best to access those sources and respond.

We sincerely thank you for your patience and understanding as we manage the impacts of Hurricane Helene and ongoing service issues. We are praying for your safety and with the hope we will see you soon.

Friends, we need your help. We are being targeted in an internet extortion scheme which is a crime that has been on the rise in recent years and specifically targets businesses with good reviews. We received messages from someone who is not a patient threatening to post bad reviews, lies, and allegations of criminal conduct to ruin our business. Rather than engaging in any “negotiation” to prevent the attack on our reputation we contacted law enforcement for their help. In addition to the written threats in the messages, we need a link to anything they might post on the internet. I know some of y’all are much more computer savvy than we are, so if you stumble across anything suspicious please send it to us to help with the investigation.

We remain open and are doing all we can to prevent dental patients from adding stress to hospitals, hospital emergency rooms, and urgent care facilities.

The American Dental Association advises that routine care should be rescheduled.

Dental care that you should have taken care of by a dentist at this time:
• Bleeding that doesn’t stop
• Painful swelling in or around your mouth
• Pain in a tooth, teeth or jaw bone
• Gum infection with pain or swelling
• After surgery treatment (dressing change, stitch removal)
• Broken or knocked out tooth
• Denture adjustment for people receiving radiation or other treatment for cancer
• Snipping or adjusting wire of braces that hurts your check or gums
• Biopsy of abnormal tissue
Additional information is available at www.ada.org.

You can help us continue to serve the community.
Do not come to the office if you have a fever, cough, have been out of the country in the past 30 days, or have a known exposure to a confirmed or suspected Covid-19 patient.
Please come to your appointment alone. If you must be accompanied by another individual they must be over 18 years of age and under 65 years of age without any underlying health conditions. They are to remain outside for the duration of your appointment, typically 30 minutes or less.

If you have any questions or are unsure about these procedures please call the office at (423)543-3002.
