Here are some reminders and tips for 🦷⬇️
We know there are many reasons not to go to the dentist: time constraints, energy, anxiety, and cost. However, the truth is that what you don’t invest into your health now, you will pay for later, and with interest.
The health of your mouth determines the health of your whole body and mind. Preventative checkups are necessary to catch things like decay and disease early enough before they become irreversible.
In addition to scheduling a dentist appointment, some things you can do at home:
-Play a song while you brush. Make it fun. Make sure it’s for at least 2 minutes each time.
-Brush on all angles to include the inner, outer and top surfaces of your teeth
-To keep fresh breath, make sure to scrape your tongue to remove any bacteria. You can buy a scraper device specifically for this.
-Keep a pack of floss in your bag or in your car. You never know when you’ll need it (but when you do it seems to always be at the most inconvenient time. Stay prepared!)
-Brush before coffee, not right after. This protects the teeth before the drink even touches them.
-Replace your manual brush every 3-4 months.
-If you forget your floss, toothbrush or mouthwash while traveling, something is better than nothing. Swish the toothpaste around in your mouth if it’s all you have.
Caring for your smile is an investment that will be kind to you for years to come.
