Dr. Nieders and his wife, Allison, just got back from an incredible humanitarian dental mission in Cambodia with Global Dental Relief! 🦷✈️

They spent their days helping bring healthy smiles to kids in need—and came home with full hearts, amazing stories, and maybe a little extra appreciation for American air conditioning. 😅

Safe to say it was an unforgettable experience… and Dr. Nieders is already talking about when he can go back!

Happy Dental Assistants Week! 🦷✨

This week we celebrated the amazing dental assistants and our team who keep our office running smoothly and care for our patients so well every single day. We are so grateful for the skill, kindness, and energy they bring to our team!

To show our appreciation, we had a little fun with a coffee bar ☕, trail mix bar 🥜, sunglasses 😎, and Bogg bags 👜—just a few small ways to say thank you for everything they do.

Dental assistants truly make a difference in the patient experience, and we are lucky to have the best! All of our employees help make Palmetto Smiles a very special place.

It’s always nice to gather together and catch up with our dental community. We are thankful for all of the incredible specialists in town who provide care for our patients. Last night we joined Carolinas Center for Oral & Facial Surgery in welcoming Dr. Marissa Gentle and Dr. Kacy Wonder to Columbia. We are excited to have them and look forward to working with them in the future.

As a newly named Fellow of the ACD, she was recognized for her outstanding leadership and exceptional contributions to the dental profession. The ACD is dedicated to advancing excellence, ethics, professionalism, and leadership in oral healthcare — and we’re thrilled to see Dr. Gomez honored among its distinguished members.

Did you know Dr. Gomez’s sister is also a dentist? This weekend, Dr. Gomez and Dr. Pucillo had the opportunity to learn together in Boston. 🦷 It was a privilege for Dr. Gomez learn alongside her sister and collaborate on specific cases.

Dr. Gomez has been an active member of a local Spear Study Club for most of her career. Spear Education is a nationally recognized leader in Continuing Education, dedicated to advancing excellence in clinical care. By expanding clinical knowledge and collaborating with colleagues, Dr. Gomez ensures she stays at the forefront of dentistry—providing the highest level of care for her patients.

We had a smashing good time at the Pickleball tournament sponsored by Columbia Periodontal Associates! 🦷

Nothing better than great competition, healthy smiles, and supporting our dental community!

Dr. Gomez and Dr. Raines, the reigning champions, were unavailable so Dr. Mike Jauch and Derek Gomez rose to the challenge. Despite the weather and stiff competition, team Palmetto Smiles tied for second!! Way to go guys!!
