We're focusing on gums this month! โœจ September is National Gum Care Month, which makes it a great time to learn more about taking care of your gums. There are two types of gum disease caused by bacteria in the mouth: periodontitis and gingivitis.
Infections of the gums, such as gingivitis, can cause bleeding and pain. If left untreated, gingivitis can progress into periodontitis, which is a more serious condition - periodontitis is the leading cause of tooth loss.

Our team can assist you if you experience symptoms such as bleeding gums, mouth sores, gum pain, or a bad taste in your mouth. Timely dental treatment can help avoid periodontitis and its associated problems!

In the summer, we all enjoy a tasty popsicle from time to time to beat the heat. But what are the effects of these icy treats on our teeth? ๐ŸงŠ๐Ÿฆท In addition to being cold, popsicles contain pure sugar, which can make your teeth sensitive. Bacteria in your mouth will feed on that sugar, producing acids that cause tooth decay.

Moreover, popsicles are sticky on your teeth and can exacerbate decay. A better alternative is frozen fruit! Although still sugary, this natural option sticks to your teeth less than a traditional popsicle! ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ‰๐Ÿ
