Every detail in our office is intentional 🐝

Every toy. Every corner. Every screen. Every appointment. Every experience.

As board-certified pediatric dentists AND moms, we’ve spent years learning how to care for children’s teeth...and years learning what makes kids feel safe and comfortable. We bring both to everything we do here.

We designed this space with both our clinical training and our real-life parenting experience in mind. Not just what looks cute, but what feels safe and fun.

We hope you and your kids feel that every time you walk through the door 🩷

Here’s why we (don’t) recommend waiting to get your child’s tongue or lip tie revised 👇

Tongue and lip ties can affect so many things, like breastfeeding, facial development, breathing, and contribute to speech issues in your child.

🐝 Nursing and feeding. Ties can make latching painful for moms and inefficient for babies. This can affecting weight gain and growth overall.

🐝 Face shape and jaw development. The tongue helps shape the palate and jaw growth. When it can’t move the way it was meant to, development can be affected.

🐝 Breathing. Restricted tongue movement can contribute to mouth breathing, affecting airway development and sleep quality

🐝 Speech. Oral ties can limit the tongue mobility needed for certain sounds.

The goal of a tie release is to prevent these issues from becoming bigger problems down the road. That doesn’t mean every tie needs immediate treatment, but it does mean getting an evaluation from your friendly neighborhood Kansas City dentists 😉😉

If you’re wondering whether your child’s tie should be addressed now or later, let’s talk through it!

Just a couple of pediatric dentists fighting the notion that sugar is causing all the cavities in the world of children 👊

Can sugar contribute to cavities? Definitely.
Is it the only reason kids get cavities? Not even close.

Cavities happen when a combination of factors line up: bacteria, enamel strength, genetics, tooth shape, saliva flow, diet, and oral hygiene. Sugar is part of it, but it’s definitely NOT the whole story.

We’ve seen kids who eat sugar regularly and never get cavities, and we’ve seen kids who brush perfectly, avoid sugar, and still end up with multiple cavities. Every child’s cavity risk is different!

Sports drinks, candy, juice...they’re not always the culprit; but understanding what they’re actually doing to teeth (and when it becomes a problem) helps you make better choices for your kiddos 🐝

A 2022 study found that many children don’t see a dentist for the first time until age 7, and in many cases, the first visit happens because something is wrong or hurting.

That’s why we say ‘Everyone by one!’. Seeing a child by age one, or when the first tooth comes in (whichever comes first).

Early dental visits create a positive experience, help parents know what to expect, and prevent little concerns from becoming bigger ones!

Waiting until something is wrong makes a trip to the dentist much harder for both kids and parents. Early visits help the dentist seem familiar and low-stress from the very beginning 🐝

We accept many insurance plans and have membership options for families without dental insurance 🦷 🪥 You can make an appointment with Dr. Meredith by visiting the link in our bio!

Let’s be honest, we’re all yappers 😅

Getting to connect with our patients and their families is definitely the best part of our days. So if we run a few mins behind, know it’s because we’re deep in conversation about dinosaurs, Bluey episodes, or why unicorns are better than horses 😂
