Meet the Team: Gabriel B. Hillmann, DMD

Dr. Gabriel Hillmann is proud to return home to Laurens, South Carolina, to begin his career in dentistry and serve the community that helped shape him. A native of Laurens, Dr. Hillmann graduated from Laurens District 55 High School in 2016 before attending Furman University, where he graduated Magne Cum Laude in 2020. He then pursued his dental education at the Medical University of South Carolina James B. Edwards College of Dental Medicine, graduating in 2026.

Dr. Hillmann is excited for the opportunity to practice dentistry in his hometown and to become part of a well-established practice with a longstanding commitment to excellent patient care. He looks forward to building upon that foundation by incorporating modern, cutting-edge dental techniques and technology to provide patients with high-quality, comprehensive care.

Understanding that a visit to the dentist can sometimes be stressful, Dr. Hillmann places a strong emphasis on creating a comfortable and welcoming experience for every patient. He believes in taking the time to listen, explain treatment options, and develop trusting relationships so that patients feel confident and at ease throughout their care.

While attending school in Charleston, Dr. Hillmann met his wife, Raigan Hillmann, who is a member of the MUSC College of Pharmacy Class of 2027. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Hillmann enjoys cooking, working on cars, and spending time tending to his small “farm,” which includes chickens, a few rabbits, dogs, and cats.

Dr. Hillmann is grateful for the opportunity to give back to the community he has always called home. He looks forward to meeting the practice’s existing patients, welcoming new patients, and fostering lasting partnerships as they work together toward a lifetime of excellent oral health.

Meet the Team: Sarah Grace Cummings

Sarah Grace Cummings is a recent graduate of Thornwell Charter School and is excited to begin her career in the dental field as a member of Dr. Todd’s team. She is passionate about learning, growing her skills, and providing exceptional care to every patient she meets. Sarah Grace is committed to creating a welcoming and comfortable experience while helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles.

Having been a patient of Dr. Todd’s since she was a young child, joining the practice has been a full-circle moment for Sarah Grace. She is grateful for the opportunity to work alongside a team she has known and trusted for many years and is excited to build lasting relationships with patients while continuing to expand her knowledge and experience in dentistry.

Outside of the office, Sarah Grace enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to the beach, and making the most of every opportunity to learn and grow. She looks forward to serving the community and being a part of the caring, family-oriented environment that has made Dr. Todd’s practice so special.

Meet the Team: Jan Templeton

Jan Templeton has been a dedicated member of Dr. Todd’s dental team since 1998. As the front desk coordinator, she plays an important role in ensuring the office runs smoothly each day. She is responsible for managing dental insurance, assisting patients through the checkout process, and handling deposits and billing with efficiency and care. Her years of experience, attention to detail, and friendly personality help create a welcoming experience for every patient.

Jan has been happily married to her husband, Barry Templeton, for over 40 years, and together they have one grown son. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time at the beach, visiting the mountains, and making memories with family and friends. She is also a faithful member of Lydia Mill Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Meet the Staff: Renee Jones

Renee Jones is a dedicated Dental Hygienist who graduated from Greenville Technical College in 2001. She is passionate about providing compassionate, thorough patient care and helping others achieve and maintain healthy smiles.

Outside of work, Renee enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, traveling, listening to music, and attending concerts. Her faith is also an important part of her life, and she enjoys staying active in her church community. Renee loves learning and trying new things, whether that means picking up a new hobby or simply creating new experiences and memories with the people she loves.

Renee is grateful for the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with her patients and coworkers while continuing to grow both personally and professionally.

Meet the Staff: Melody Duncan

Melody Hodges Duncan is a dedicated Registered Dental Hygienist who has been a valued member of Dr. Todd's practice since 1987. A 1986 graduate of Greenville Technical College, she brings nearly four decades of clinical experience and professional care to her patients.

While originally from Hodges, South Carolina, Melody has proudly called Laurens home for almost 40 years. Outside of the office, her greatest joy is spending time with her family, which includes her three grown sons, two daughters-in-law, and two grandsons. She is an avid traveler who cherishes any opportunity to head t to Montana.

Meet the Staff: Susan Prince

Susan Prince has been a dedicated dental assistant for many years, beginning her career in Greenwood, where she developed a strong foundation in patient care and dentistry. Originally from Greenwood, she first joined Dr. Todd’s practice early in her career before taking time away to raise her family. After raising her three children, Susan returned to continue working alongside Dr. Todd, bringing with her years of experience and a genuine passion for helping others.

Susan is married to her husband, Allen Prince, and values the importance of family both at home and in the workplace. Known for her warm personality and caring nature, she has built lasting relationships with generations of patients. She knows many of them by name and treats everyone who walks through the door like family, helping each patient feel comfortable, welcomed, and well cared for.

Outside of the office, Susan enjoys gardening, cooking, and spending time with family and friends at her beach house in Myrtle Beach. She is also an active member of First United Methodist Church in Laurens. Whether she’s caring for patients or making memories with loved ones, she brings kindness, dedication, and a welcoming spirit to everything she does.

Dr. James C. Todd III is proud to continue a tradition of exceptional dental care in Laurens County. His practice is the longest-established dental office in the county, a testament to decades of dedicated service and lasting relationships with generations of patients.

One of the things Dr. Todd values most is his outstanding team. Almost every member of his staff has been with the practice for more than 30 years, reflecting the commitment, experience, and family atmosphere that patients have come to know and trust.

Dr. Todd has been married to his wife, Susan, for 42 years. Together they have two sons, Jim and Scott, and are the proud grandparents of three grandchildren. Family has always been at the heart of his life, and he brings that same sense of care and compassion to every patient he treats.

Known for his gentle approach and commitment to excellence, Dr. Todd believes in providing the highest quality dentistry while building lasting relationships with his patients. He takes pride in helping every patient achieve and maintain a healthy, confident smile in a comfortable and welcoming environment.

When he’s away from the office, Dr. Todd enjoys spending time at his home in Charleston with his family and friends.
