🕵️ How the game works

1. Choose a secret word.
Write the same word on 3 pieces of paper. Write nothing on the 4th piece.

2. Everyone draws one paper.
* 3 people see the secret word.
* 1 person gets the blank paper and is the Imposter.
* The Imposter doesn’t know the word and must keep that secret.

3. Give clues.
Going around the group, each person says something related to the secret word without actually saying the word.

For example, if the word is “juice”:
* Person 1: “Breakfast”
* Person 2: “Orange”
* Person 3: “Sweet”
* Imposter: “Refreshing”

The Imposter is listening carefully and trying to figure out what the secret word is while giving a clue that makes them sound like they know it.

4. Watch for suspicious clues. 👀
The people who know the word are trying to give clues that prove they know it without making the word obvious to the Imposter. The Imposter is trying to blend in.

5. Call someone out / accuse.
Once someone thinks they’ve figured out who the Imposter is, they can say, “I think it’s ___!”

6. Vote or reveal.
Everyone can discuss their suspicions and then vote on who they think the Imposter is.

7. Optional twist: If the group catches the Imposter, give them one final chance to guess the secret word. If they guess it correctly, the Imposter wins anyway. This is a common version of the game.

The really fun part: You don’t want your clue to be too obvious, because you’re basically giving the Imposter the answer. But you also don’t want it to be too vague, because then everyone thinks you’re the Imposter…
