Just finished a CBCT pathology course and it was such a great refresher.
As dentists, our CBCT scans capture so much more than we sometimes realize. Every scan has the potential to reveal something outside the scope of what we were originally looking for, and its our responsibility to know how to spot it and where to send it.
If we are going to be held liable for what shows up on these scans, we owe it to our patients (and ourselves) to know how to recognize something suspicious and who to triage it to.
Continuing education like this is what keeps us sharp and keeps our patients safe.
