June is National Cancer Survivors Month.

For many head and neck cancer survivors, the effects of treatment do not end when treatment ends. Oral and dental complications can impact eating, speaking, swallowing, nutrition, comfort, and quality of life for years after cancer treatment.

Comprehensive survivorship care includes oral health before, during, and after treatment.

At MOPSS, we are working to raise awareness and advocate for access to medically necessary oral and dental care for head and neck cancer survivors.

Because survivorship care should not stop at the mouth.

Dear Patients

We are losing the fight to preserve MassHealth dental benefits.

Advocacy from our side alone is no longer enough. The only thing that will move this now is patient voices — at scale.

If our patients don’t speak up immediately, these cuts will happen. And once they do, it will be extremely difficult — if not impossible — to reverse.

This allows patients to simply scan a QR code and send a message to their legislator in under a minute using pre-written, modifiable templates.

This is simple. This is scalable. And right now this is our only real path forward.

If we do not act now, it will be too late
