🚧 Michigan Avenue Bridge Construction Begins Today! 🚧

Starting today, June 1, the City of Lansing Public Service Department has begun construction on the Michigan Avenue bridges over the Grand River and Museum Drive. Work is expected to continue through mid-September 2026.

Here's what you need to know:
🚗 Traffic Impact: Michigan Avenue is now reduced to two lanes — one eastbound, one westbound — between Grand Avenue and Cedar Street.

🚫 No Parking: Parking on Michigan Avenue from Grand Avenue to Cedar Street is prohibited during construction.

🔀 Museum Drive Detours: Access to and from Museum Drive will be affected throughout the project. Detour routes will be in place to guide traffic.

• Museum Drive Entrance Detour: North on Grand Ave/Larch St → Shiawassee St to Cedar St → West on Riverfront Drive to Museum Drive

• Large Truck Detour (Left Turn Exit): North on Museum Drive to Riverfront Drive → South on Cedar St → West on Michigan Ave

Meet our next Ambassador Spotlight, Inetta Smith of NovaCare Rehabilitation.

For the past three years, Inetta has proudly served as a Chamber Ambassador, enjoying the opportunity to connect with new people, build relationships, and participate in Chamber events throughout the community.

Inetta is passionate about making a difference in the lives of veterans. Her dedication to serving those who have served our country extends beyond her professional role, as she also serves as Chair of the Lansing Area Veterans Coalition-LAVC. Through her leadership and advocacy, she works tirelessly to support veterans and help connect them with valuable resources and opportunities.

When asked about her favorite quote, Inetta shared:
"I will work convinced that nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm. To do anything today that is truly worth doing, I must not stand back shivering and thinking of the cold and danger, but jump in with gusto and scramble through as well as I can."

Thank you for your service as an Ambassador and for the positive impact she continues to make throughout the Lansing area.

State highway officials will hold a public meeting June 4 in Lansing to discuss the planned rebuild of U.S. 127 between I-496 and Lake Lansing Road. Construction is scheduled for 2027-28.

Team Building at LRCC!

Our team swapped desks for gardening gloves and spent the day to help brighten up the balconies in the Stadium District Living. It was a great way to step outside and work side-by-side.

We’ve decked the space out with red, white, and blue and filled the flower boxes to keep the celebration going, honoring both LRCC’s 125th Anniversary and the upcoming USA 250th birthday.

Moments like these are a great reminder of what community looks like in action from teamwork, pride, and a shared space that feels more welcoming for everyone.
