To the greatest dental patients in Kentucky,

I am not quitting practice.

I want to thank you for the years of dental care you have allowed me to provide for you and probably your families. I have been practicing for 43 years here in Martin.
I will be cutting back on my clinical practice a bit starting next month. We will in the first of July begin to reschedule appointments until we assess how many hours I can continue to do work. We will continue to have patients see Elaine our dental hygienist for their recall cleanings, exams, and necessary x-rays. By the middle of August I will have a better idea how many and which days I can do more clinical work. We are not quitting just reducing my clinical time.

Unfortunately we are going to terminate our participation in Kentucky Medicaid, effective July 15, 2026 so any patients who are covered with that insurance will need to seek another practice for care. We will work to complete everyone’s active treatment over the next couple months on a limited basis and we will copy any records for you to take. All patients with a Medicaid plan will receive a letter in the mail with details on how to pick up your records or to have them mailed for the cost of postage.

I have felt it an honor to be trusted by so many wonderful people to provide your care.

So proud of our daughter Myranda, a second year dental student at UK. She has been serving as the legislative liaison for ASDA ( American Student Dental Association) this year representing UK and the Sixth District of ASDA and was awarded the National Legislative Liason of the year. The award was announced at ASDA’s national delegates meeting in Minneapolis, MN this Friday February 6th. Her picture with me was at the Kentucky Dental Association legislative day in Frankfort on Wednesday with me.
She’s following my grandfathers view that if you want to improve things you must be involved to affect change.
