Taking care of your oral health doesn't have to be complicated. Here are our go-to recommendations for keeping your smile—and your whole body—healthy:
1. Brush twice daily with a fluoride or hydroxyapatite toothpaste. Two minutes, electric brush, don't forget your gum line.
2. Floss daily. Yes, really. It's the only way to clean between teeth where cavities love to start and bacteria camp out on your gums.
3. Breathe through your nose. Nasal breathing supports proper jaw development, reduces dry mouth, and protects your airway health. If you or your child are mouth breathing, let's talk—it could be a sign of an underlying airway issue.
4. Eat a nutrient-dense diet. Your teeth need vitamins A, D, K2, calcium, and phosphorus to stay strong. Think: grass-fed butter, leafy greens, wild-caught fish, and bone broth.
5. Limit sugar and processed foods. The bacteria in your mouth feed on sugar and produce acid that breaks down enamel. Less sticky = healthier teeth.
6. Stay hydrated. Water helps rinse away food particles and keeps your saliva flowing—your mouth's natural defense system.
7. Don't skip your dental visits. Prevention is always easier (and less expensive) than treatment. We're here to catch problems early and assess airway function.
Your mouth is the gateway to your overall health—and healthy airways mean better sleep, focus, and development for the whole family.
