We were so excited to be able to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week with our Rock Star Teacher contest! We LOVED reading through all of your entries and hearing about alllll of the incredible teachers in our communities! It was so hard to pick a winner! They were all SO GOOD!
🌟What makes this teacher a Rock Star?
“Mrs Hamilton is a rock star teacher. She constantly shows love for her students by getting to know each individually and tailor the learning for each of their needs. Mrs Hamilton taught them about the Iditarod Dog sled race, every student chose a musher and followed him or her along the trail. The kids loved it. They started the year learning about Fat Bear week! Each day they watched the bears and learned about real life. In February each student picked an Olympic athlete and studied and followed that athlete’s journey. Each kid was an expert on that sport! Her kids have grown by leaps and bounds because of the exciting units of study they have done in 4th grade."

“What makes Mrs Hamilton stand out is the dedication to her students. For many years, she was a substitute teacher at the school. This year students from all grades regularly stop in for a quick hug and a “therapy” session to tell their teacher something important. She makes every child feel comfortable and loved."
🌟How has this teacher positively influenced students or the school community?
“On top of all that Mrs Hamilton is the vice president of the school PTSA. She’s helped raise over $15,000 with the school’s fun run. Her dedication to sunnyside is unparalleled. She has helped organize and run every single school event that PTSA is involved in."
