🌎 Happy World Endodontic Day! 🦷

Today, we celebrate the specialty dedicated to saving natural teeth!

Recognized internationally through the International Federation of Endodontic Associations (IFEA), World Endodontic Day highlights the importance of endodontic care and the specialists who work every day to preserve natural teeth.

As emphasized by the American Association of Endodontists (AAE), endodontists are specialists in diagnosing tooth pain, treating diseases of the dental pulp, and saving teeth through advanced endodontic procedures.

From root canal therapy and retreatment to endodontic microsurgery, dental trauma management, and regenerative endodontics, our specialty is built on precision, innovation, and a commitment to preserving natural dentition.

A brighter smile, just in time for graduation. 🎓✨

Tooth 9 had a history of childhood trauma and later developed pulpal necrosis with asymptomatic apical periodontitis.

Root canal treatment was completed first to address the endodontic disease. Following treatment, a protective intra-coronal barrier was placed over the root canal filling before sodium perborate was used for internal bleaching.

The goal was simple: improve the facial discoloration while preserving her natural tooth.

And the timing made this case even more special—she took her high school graduation photos during the bleaching process and was already so happy with the improvement in her smile. We then continued treatment to achieve her final result. 🤍

Internal bleaching can be a conservative option for discoloration of a root canal–treated tooth, improving its appearance from within the tooth without immediately turning to a veneer or crown.

Healthy first. Then esthetics.
