I never set out to prove that women belong in surgery.

I simply set out to become the best endodontist I could be.

Along the way, I have been fortunate to learn from incredible mentors, work alongside talented colleagues, and care for patients who place their trust in me every day.

This profession has taught me that growth never stops. Every case, every challenge, and every patient is an opportunity to learn something new.

The patient was originally referred for evaluation and treatment of tooth 18 while in temporary crowns for teeth 18–20. During evaluation, an incidental finding was noted on tooth 19.

CBCT imaging demonstrated a distal root lateral radiolucency on tooth 19 that was minimally evident on the pre-operative periapical radiograph.

Further evaluation revealed an untreated accessory canal associated with the lateral lesion, which was identified and managed during nonsurgical retreatment.

Modern endodontic treatment continues to evolve through the integration of advanced imaging, high magnification, laser-activated irrigation, and bioceramic materials to improve visualization, disinfection, and long-term outcomes.

Small anatomy. Big consequences.

Modern endodontic microsurgery has reported success rates approaching 90–94% through the use of advanced magnification, microsurgical instrumentation, ultrasonic retropreparation, and bioceramic root-end filling materials.

Tooth 7 presented with pulpal necrosis and chronic apical abscess associated with a palatogingival groove. Teeth 8 and 9 presented with previously treated symptomatic apical periodontitis and persistent apical pathology.

Endodontic microsurgery was performed utilizing high magnification, ultrasonic retropreparation, bioceramic root-end filling materials,bone graft and membrane to manage persistent apical disease while preserving the natural dentition.

Biopsy results: periapical granuloma.
