People have been asking what it means to be a Fellow of the American Academy of Clear aligners.
A Fellow of the American Academy of Clear Aligners (AACA) is the highest level of professional recognition given to a general dentist for their exceptional knowledge, talent, and experience in clear aligner therapy like Invisalign. To earn this title, a dentist must complete extensive clinical training, pass strict case reviews, and demonstrate a deep commitment to advanced orthodontic care.
Fellowship Requirements
Case Experience: Complete at least 100 lifetime clear aligner cases placed into retention.
Continuing Education: Accumulate a minimum of 50 logged hours of education credits in orthodontics or clear aligners over a five-year span.
Testing and Review: Pass a multi-choice fellowship exam and a rigorous clinical review of multiple treated patient cases with passing scores.
Membership: Maintain active standing in the American Academy of Clear Aligners for at least one full year prior to application.
I hope this answers everyone's questions and explains why I was so excited to be named as a Fellow of the AACA!
