Whenever possible, preserving your natural tooth is often the preferred option. Once a tooth is extracted, the bone supporting that tooth can begin to shrink (atrophy), especially during the first few months.
That’s why it’s important to talk with your dentist about all available options before choosing extraction.
Depending on the condition of the tooth, treatment may include:
✨ A filling or restorative treatment
✨ Root canal treatment + a crown
✨ Other options to preserve the tooth
If the tooth truly cannot be saved, your dentist may discuss dental implants or other tooth-replacement options to help restore function and support.
