However, early screening can help detect and prevent significant orthodontic and dental problems from developing. Balhoff Orthodontics wants you to know that it is never too late to achieve that perfect smile. This case is a great example of correcting an anterior crossbite, where the upper front teeth were biting behind the lower teeth instead of in front, as they should.

Left untreated, this kind of misalignment and poor bite can lead to uneven tooth wear, gum recession, and jaw joint strain over time.
