Balhoff Orthodontics

We are committed to creating healthy, beautiful smiles in an enjoyable and caring atmosphere! Good dental health begins early.

Balhoff Orthodontics' top priority is to provide you the highest quality orthodontic care in a friendly, comfortable environment. We utilize the latest technological advances in orthodontics along with the latest in computer technology to ensure that you receive the most effective care. An important step recommended by the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) is for your child to visit the orthodontist for an evaluation by at least age 7. This may surprise you since orthodontics is usually associated with adolescence. However, early screening can help detect and prevent significant orthodontic and dental problems from developing. Balhoff Orthodontics wants you to know that it is never too late to achieve that perfect smile. We recognize that every patient has different needs, and we pride ourselves in the courteous and professional service we deliver to each person who walks through our doors. Whatever your orthodontic needs may be, whether you're a child, adolescent, or adult, our knowledgeable staff is committed to helping you achieve the smile that you want and deserve - a healthy, beautiful one!

Our team is fueled up and giving back for Givebacktober!

Today, our staff enjoyed a treat from our office favorite, Jet Coffee, and we’re celebrating Miles Perret Cancer Services while we’re at it.

Today only, stop by the Jet Coffee on Johnston St and order from the Jet Squad Menu. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Miles Perret, so your morning pick-me-up helps support families in our community facing cancer.

How to stay on track with your orthodontic treatment??

Protect Your Appliances!!

🍭With braces, avoid sticky, hard, or chewy foods (caramel, hard candy, ice, popcorn, whole apples, bagels).

🥕Cut crunchy foods into small pieces.

✏️Don't chew pencils pens, fingernails, or ice.

☎️Call our office promptly if a bracket comes loose or a wire pokes out. Waiting for the next visit can undo progress.

Can you think of other items to avoid while in braces? Leave your ideas in the comments below.

True story 😂

Dr. B: "Great picture, Lucy! But why are you wearing your rubber bands in it?

You should've taken them out."

Lucy: "Dad, you tell me to wear my rubber bands ALL the time!"

She's not wrong. 🤗

_

Rubber bands (elastics) pull the upper and lower jaws together to fix your bite. Braces straighten individual teeth, but the elastics line up how the top and bottom teeth meet.

They only work with steady pressure, so wearing them as much as possible, keeps treatment on schedule. Skipping them slows progress.
