Did you know most orthodontists offer complimentary consultations?

While the fact that this specialty offers free consultations is pretty awesome and totally rare in the world of dental and medical specialties, you will want to know what you are getting into before you schedule. Here are four things you can expect from most orthodontic consultations:

1. RECORDS
Consisting of photographs as well as radiographs, your records will serve as a tool for the clinician to diagnose as well as educate you. These X-rays are different from the ones your general dentist usually takes and give us a view of what's going on from an orthodontic, growth and development perspective. Records also allow us to monitor progress through treatment and serve as before photos in your smile glow up.

2. EXPLORE TREATMENT OPTIONS
Your orthodontist will explain what's going in in your mouth by reviewing your current diagnosis and findings with you.

Once the orthodontist understands your unique desires and lifestyle, they will present possible treatment options available to you. There are multiple tools (ie: Invisalign, braces) and pathways to get you a beautiful, straight smile so we get creative to find options that best fit you.

3. GET TO KNOW THE DOCTOR + TEAM
Wherever you choose to go, it's important to feel out the vibe and make sure you are comfortable and enjoy those involved in your smile transformation. Similar to a first date, your consult will allow you to see if you want to continue the relationship.

4. HAVE YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED
It's very important that your doctor listens to your concerns and questions. It will make you feel more comfortable and confident in the process but will also let the doctor get to know your unique situation. So make sure to ask any and all questions you may have about your current smile, treatment options and the orthodontic process in general.
