Braces can straighten teeth beautifully… but they don’t protect enamel during treatment. Instead, they make it harder to brush and require a more thorough routine.

These white spot lesions are areas where demineralization occurred around the brackets from plaque sitting too long on the teeth. The good news? We have a solution.

This patient had ICON treatment, and 6 months later we were able to noticeably blend and reduce the appearance of the lesions by about 50%. Not perfect — but a huge improvement.

Moral of the story: brushing during braces matters just as much as the braces themselves.

Two things I check RIGHT before debond day:

1️⃣ Broken power chain = spaces can reopen 😬
2️⃣ Broken brackets = teeth can move out of alignment

Either one can delay getting your braces off 😭

Final stretch = be EXTRA careful
No hard foods, no picking, and wear those elastics!

Trust me… you don’t want to be ONE appointment away and have to wait longer 😅
