We see a lot of patients and they all have a similar question - What is a Root Canal?

The Pulp: Inside your tooth, beneath the enamel and dentin, is a soft tissue called the pulp. This pulp contains nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue that nourish the tooth during its development.

Infection: When the pulp becomes infected or inflamed, often due to deep decay, a cracked tooth, or repeated dental procedures, bacteria can enter and cause significant pain and damage.

The Procedure:
A root canal involves removing the infected or damaged pulp.
The inside of the tooth is then cleaned, disinfected, and shaped.
The empty space is filled and sealed with a biocompatible material, typically gutta-percha.
Finally, a crown or other restoration is placed on the tooth to protect and restore its function.
