Midway through August is usually back-to-school ✏️🍎 time for Texas residents. This little guy got his braces on in the nick of time! His smile is just as sweet as his personality! We wish all students good luck as they return for another academic year. May their smiles stay bright 💡until next summer!

How time flies! We’ve watched this patient grow up (literally) since 2022! He finally got his braces off last week, but he surpassed Dr. Oldham in height a long time ago 😉. Fun fact: twins are 60-80% more likely to finish orthodontic treatment around the same time, and that’s because they share similar tooth eruption timing, bone density, and facial growth. However, even then it’s still rare for them to finish at the same exact time. Recently we had a twin get his braces off, but strangely, he was sad about it. Teenagers these days… they really get attached to their braces! Or rather, their braces get really attached to them 😉. Either way, his teeth turned out beautifully and we know on the inside he’s proud of his new smile. Twin brother won’t be far behind!

You already know what time it is, folks; Meet the Team Monday is back! Today we introduce a very awesome lady, Jennifer (Jenn), one of our orthodontic 🦷 assistants! Born in Houston and raised in Rosenberg, Texas, she moved to Kyle with her family in 2005, where she later graduated from Jack C. Hays High School, which is just across the street from our clinic. Small world 🌍! Jenn attended the Austin School of Dental Assisting and earned her RDA license in 2014, and is very proud to have reached 11 years in the dental field! Above all else, she is a mama to four beautiful children (ages 15, 10, 6, and 4) and a bonus mom to two amazing grown children (ages 21 and 19). They are her greatest blessing and biggest motivation. When she’s not working, she’s usually 🏃‍♀️ running, dancing, or soaking up the ☀️ sunshine. A beach girl at heart, summer is her favorite season! Jenn is the mama bear 🐻 at our office as well. She is always boosting our confidence and making us feel comfortable to be 100% ourselves. She sticks up for us and encourages us to go after our goals. She’s the best assistant at handling appointments with our patients who need a little extra care. She is bubbly, positive, enthusiastic, and funny! She says working at OFO truly feels like her home away from home, and since Dr. O and the team have given her the opportunity to work part-time, she’s able to spend more time ⏱️ with her children while still pursuing a career she’s passionate 🥰 about. What Jenn loves most about this job is the relationships she builds with our patients. It’s such an honor to get to know each person throughout their orthodontic journey and watch their confidence 😎 grow along the way. Our patients are the reason she loves coming to work every day. We have the best patients, the best doctor, and the best team! We love you Jenn! ❤️

Congrats to this ray of ☀️ sunshine! She got her braces off just in time for the World Cup ⚽️ Final! Even though her smile was near perfect when she first came in, there were some gaps and misalignments she wanted Dr. O to improve. Now she can cheer for Argentina 🇦🇷 with her new set of pearls! 🦷

Mamma Mia, here we go again! Meet Alondra, one of our orthodontic assistants. She was born and raised in Austin, Tx, but she loves to 🌎 travel. She’s a gym 🏋️‍♀️ girlie who loves to 🏃‍♀️ run, and enjoys 🎸 concerts! Some life goals of hers are to become a registered dental hygienist and travel the world with her family. She attended the Dental Assisting School 📚 of Kyle, is currently a student ✏️ at ACC, and has 4 years of RDA experience. Alondra is a ⭐️ star! She’s very approachable and friendly, she’s a hard worker, and she knows how to have fun! She hypes 😍 up her coworkers and makes the day go by faster! She’s really good at making retainers and is a pro at working our itero scan machine. What Alondra loves most about working at OFO is meeting new patients and interacting with everyone. She loves watching their progress 📈 and how they grow into confidence with their smile!

What time ⏰ is it? Meet the Team Monday time! Introducing Jess, our newest and youngest orthodontic assistant. Though she joined our team a little more than a year ago, it feels like she’s always been with us, that’s how much we love 🫶 her! She grew up in San Marcos, Tx, but dreams of one day visiting Hawaii 🌺 and Spain. Talk about 🏝️ paradise! She is a sporty girl who enjoys tennis 🎾 and 🏃‍♀️ running. Before coming to OFO, she was an assistant general manager at Bush’s 🍗 chicken. Jess is a true 🦎 chameleon, willing to do any task, friendly with all staff and patients, and she’s bilingual! She has a big heart ❤️ and feels deeply for others when they’re having a difficult time. She is a hard worker, organized, and can adapt to any situation. What she loves most about being part of the OFO family are her amazing coworkers 🤗 and the office hours.

What day is it? That’s right, it’s Meet the Team Monday! Woooh! Today we meet Sam, one of our orthodontic 🦷 assistants. Sam enjoys hiking 🥾, weight lifting 🏋🏽‍♀️, painting 🎨, gardening, playing pool, and cooking! She’s also a clean girlie who values skin care, cleaning, and organizing. She dreams of one day becoming a stay at home wife and mother. Having 6 years of clinical experience under her belt, her leadership and dependability bring structure and efficiency to the clinic! Sam is skilled at handling patients who require a little more 🫶 TLC with a balance of humor 😂 and ☝️firmness. She is a no nonsense type of gal, very down to earth and easy going. Her laughter is super contagious and brings an atmosphere of joy 🤗 to our office. Though all of our assistants are well rounded, Sam has a knack for cranking out retainers like no tomorrow! She’s a machine ⚙️ in the lab, but a supportive and adventurous coworker. What Sam appreciates most being apart of the OFO family are the generous office 🕐 hours.

Alright, alright, ladies and gentlemen, it’s that time, it’s that time! Meet Rocio, aka Cio, our Lead Orthodontic 🦷 Assistant. Rocio is a true ride-or-die OFO veteran, having been with the practice for 5 years, since the very beginning, and is trained to work both the front office and back of clinic. She enjoys yoga 🧘‍♀️ and meditating to relax her mind, but is recently preoccupied playing with her new 🐱 kitty! One of her biggest passions is playing ⚽️ soccer, and a life goal of hers is striving to align confidence every day and working towards making her mark on the 🌎 world! She received her Associates of Applied Science at TSTC in Sweetwater, Texas, her ADAA in Pascagoula, Mississippi, and gained experience at Gautier Vancleave Family Dentistry in Mississippi, as well as Vista Hills Family Dental in El Paso, Texas. Rocio has a strong interpersonal awareness and can usually gauge how people are feeling. This really helps her understand their communication 💬 styles during their appointments. She is an empath, always checking in with her coworkers if they’re down, and excited to share experiences together. She has a knack for putting younger patients at ease and entertaining the little ones! She is very passionate about Orthodontics. Having experienced firsthand how it made a change in her life, she knew she wanted to make a difference for others! What Rocio loves most about working at OFO is being able to put patients with the biggest dental horror stories at 😅 ease. She is in awe of the physical transformation, as well as the internal change and confidence 😎 boost in the patients, which is her daily motivation.
