Juno came to see us for a recheck of his root canaled upper fourth premolar that was treated about 5 years ago — and we are so happy to report that everything looks GREAT! 🦷✨

All of his teeth look healthy and stable, and his previous treatment is holding beautifully. We love seeing long-term success stories like this!

Thank you, Dr. Hanrath, for trusting us with your sweet baby. It truly means so much to care for pets belonging to fellow professionals. 💙

Way to go, Juno! 🐶

Zac, a gentle giant Great Dane, traveled all the way from Florida to get the help he needed for an oral tumor that, if left untreated, would have compromised both his quality and length of life.

After a successful mandibulectomy to remove the tumor, we are thrilled to share that Zac is healing beautifully and eating well! 💪🐶 It took a little time and adjustment for him to learn to eat with a shorter lower jaw, but he has done amazing—and his sweet spirit never wavered.

We are so proud of Zac and honored to be part of his journey. Big love to this brave boy and his devoted family. We love you, Zac! 💙

Coco came in today for a 2 week healing recheck on a rostral mandibulectomy.  Removing a portion of the jaw bone is sometimes necessary to treat an oral tumor and the decision to do so can be difficult for owners.  Fear of decreased function or abnormal appearance are among the most common when facing this decision, but as you can see, Coco looks great and is doing very well at home and the best news is that the tumor was completely removed and Coco is cured.  Merry Christmas Coco!

At East Tennessee Veterinary Dentistry, your pet’s safety is our highest priority.

Not only do we focus on providing advanced dental and oral surgery care, but every patient benefits from collaboration with a Board-Certified Veterinary Anesthesiologist.

Before any procedure, a board certified anesthesiologist reviews your pet’s medical records, creates a customized anesthesia protocol, and remains available by phone throughout the entire case with any questions or concerns. When needed, they can even remotely monitor the anesthesia machine in real time, guiding our team through any complications or high risk cases.

This level of expertise allows us to provide anesthesia as safely as possible. We understand that anesthesia and dentistry can be scary for many pet owners—and often a reason treatment is postponed.

At East Tennessee Veterinary Dentistry, our training, technology, and collaborative team allow us to perform dentistry more safely, more efficiently, and with exceptional care for your pet’s comfort and well-being.

If you have questions about dental procedures or anesthesia, we’re always here to help.

Sweet 7 month old Birdie came in yesterday for an orthodontic evaluation. Her mama knows how important it is to intervene early to create the best chance for resolving abnormal occlusion. And as you can see, Birdie was pretty relaxed for her appointment 💕

We all fell in love with Judge today! He was so calm and felt right at home at his dentist appointment. We partnered with Judge’s mama to determine the best treatment plan to eliminate the pain of fractured teeth and he did great! What a wonderful way to end a week :)

17 year old Yogi is snuggling in the exam room during his consultation. Yogi also has degenerative heart disease and severe periodontal disease. Yogi’s dad pursued treatment to eliminate a painful oral condition. Our collaboration with a board certified anesthesiologist made Yogi’s anesthesia safe and effective. We are so grateful to have that resource as a part of our team.

Not sure who’s enjoying our exam rooms more?!?! Walking into the exam room to see Dulcie tucked cozily in our cat cubby made her mama and all of us smile. Our exam rooms were designed with comfort in mind, to ease the stress for both our patients and their parents. We continue to be so grateful for this opportunity to meet and treat these lovable critters 🐾🥰
