The American Dental Association released a statement urging all dentists to do their part to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 by postponing all elective procedures for 3 weeks. With this in mind, we are in the process of rescheduling all non-emergent care and high risk patients to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Our office will be in touch with patients that are scheduled between now and April 3rd, 2020 to reschedule our routine hygiene appointments and all other procedures deemed non-emergent at this time. However, Dr. Cox and Dr. Walker will remain available for dental emergencies for the next 3 weeks.
There will be someone at the office to answer emergency calls from 8 am to 12 pm (noon) Monday thru Thursday from Wednesday March 18th through Thursday April 2nd. If you have a dental emergency outside of the modified office hours, you will still be able to call the office and use the automated system to leave a message for the doctors.
At this time we expect to return to our regularly scheduled business hours and see all currently scheduled patients on April 6th. If there are further changes or recommendations, we will be sure to pass that information on to you.
We appreciate your cooperation and wish all our patients good health during this difficult time.
The American Dental Association (ADA) recognizes the unprecedented and extraordinary circumstances dentists and all health care professionals face related to growing concern about COVID-19. The ADA is deeply concerned for the health and well-being of the public and the dental team.
In order for dentistry to do its part to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, the ADA recommends dentists nationwide postpone elective procedures for the next three weeks. Concentrating on emergency dental care will allow us to care for our emergency patients and alleviate the burden that dental emergencies would place on hospital emergency departments.
As health care professionals, it is up to dentists to make well-informed decisions about their patients and practices. The ADA is committed to providing the latest information to the profession in a useful and timely manner.
The ADA is continually evaluating and will update its recommendation on an ongoing basis as new information becomes available. https://bit.ly/2UFJKqj
