Klamath County Museum’s photo of the week for March 29, 2026, is a 1912 image of men working a horse-drawn sagebrush ripper near Malin in 1912.

Early farmers used these implements to clear thousands of acres of sagebrush to make way for the farms that now cover much of the Basin. It was a long, dirty, and hard job.

Because of the difficulty of removing sagebrush, it required a lot of horsepower. In this case six horses are pulling the implement.

Big congratulations to our Oregon Tech Dental Hygiene students in Klamath Falls!

On March 12, students presented their capstone projects, demonstrating their critical thinking and the application of their knowledge to patient care. This includes interprofessional collaboration, ethical decision-making, and diverse perspectives related to their patients’ special needs, and a reflection on future considerations.

On March 13–14, Dental Hygiene hosted licensing board exams for restorative dentistry and clinical practice. Our students achieved a 100% pass rate on both exams! We congratulate each of them as they join the workforce and embark on their next journey as Registered Dental Hygienists with Expanded Practice.

Your hard work has paid off, and we cannot wait to see what you do next!
