🍬🎃 A little Halloween reminder for our little trick-or-treaters!

We know October comes with plenty of candy — and we’re not here to take away the fun! 👻

Just remember: after the costumes come off and the candy cravings settle down, don’t forget to brush before bed! 🪥✨

A good brushing routine helps keep those little smiles healthy all season long.

Enjoy the treats, have fun, and keep brushing! 💜

🏀⚽🏈 Sports season is here — and those little smiles need protection!

From soccer and basketball to football and gymnastics, kids are constantly on the move. A mouthguard can help protect their teeth from injuries during sports and active play.

As a pediatric dental practice in Kirkland, we’re here to help parents understand the best ways to protect their child’s growing smile — on the field, on the court, and everywhere in between.

🦷 Have questions about mouthguards or your child’s dental health? We’re here to help!

👶 Is your child still sucking their thumb or using a pacifier?

These habits are common in young children, but as your child grows, prolonged thumb sucking or pacifier use can affect the development of their teeth and jaws.

The good news? You don’t have to figure it out alone.

Our experienced pediatric dentists can evaluate your child’s oral development and help you understand when and how to begin breaking the habit — with guidance that’s appropriate for your child’s age and needs.

If you have questions, schedule a visit with our team!

“What are you going to do?” 👀

We know a dental visit can feel like a big unknown for a child. That’s why we use the Tell-Show-Do approach to help make appointments feel more comfortable and predictable.

🗣️ Tell: We explain what we’re going to do in kid-friendly language.

👀 Show: We demonstrate what they’ll see, hear, or feel.

🦷 Do: Then, when they’re ready, we complete the procedure.

It’s all about building trust, giving kids a sense of control, and helping them feel comfortable in the dental chair.

Because when kids know what to expect, a dental visit can feel a whole lot easier.

So today, show us that smile! 📸😁

🦷👧 Pediatric dentist vs. family dentist: What’s the difference?

While both provide dental care, pediatric dentists receive specialized training focused on the unique needs of babies, children, and teens.

That means understanding developing teeth and jaws, age-specific dental concerns, childhood habits, behavior and anxiety, and how to create a positive dental experience for growing smiles.

At Kirkland Kids Dentistry, we’re not just treating tiny teeth—we’re helping kids build a healthy relationship with the dentist that can last a lifetime. 💙✨

🩷🦷 September is Gum Care Awareness Month!

Healthy smiles start with healthy gums—and that’s true for kids, too!

Teaching children to brush along the gumline, floss regularly, and keep up with routine dental visits helps build habits that can protect their oral health for years to come.

And remember: bleeding, swollen, or tender gums shouldn’t simply be ignored. If something doesn’t look or feel right, let’s take a closer look!

💗 Healthy gums. Healthy habits. Healthy smiles.

🍎🎒 Packing lunches that are good for little teeth? We’ve got you!

The new school year means new lunchboxes—and a few simple swaps can make snack time more smile-friendly.

Try packing:

🥕 Crunchy veggies like carrots and cucumbers

🍎 Fresh fruit instead of sticky fruit snacks

🧀 Cheese for a protein-packed, tooth-friendly snack

🥜 Nuts or nut butter (if school policies allow)

💧 Water instead of sugary drinks

You don’t have to make the lunchbox perfect. Just focus on more whole foods, less added sugar, and plenty of water.

Your child’s smile will thank you! 😁🦷
