Hello! Many people have asked what we are doing to keep our patients and staff safe during COVID...

+ To minimize contact with other patients, your appointment time is reserved solely for you, and we have added 15 minutes in between patients to sanitize treatment rooms and sterilize equipment.

+ We have rerouted out HVAC system to increase airflow in our office and have added HEPA filters in each treatment room. We have an abundant supply of PPE, and are following CDC guidelines to minimize aerosol production.

+ Most important of all...patients answer a questionnaire regarding COVID exposure and symptoms before their appointment. If you have any symptoms, any possible COVID exposure or if you have traveled outside of your home county in the 14 days prior to your appointment, we would ask you to reschedule your appointment.

+ Currently Dr. Summers in in the office M-W, and our staff has started the COVID vaccine series. We look forward to seeing you!

Floss before you brush to maximize your oral hygiene! Here's an article that explains why...

CHICAGO – AUGUST 29, 2018 – Researchers have found that flossing before brushing may be the ideal sequence for the most thorough removal of dental plaque. The report is featured in the Journal of Periodontology (JOP), which is published by the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP).

You probably know by now that good oral health can do a lot more of your body than simply provide you with whiter teeth and a more sparkling smile. But did you realize that it can actually have a bearing on your health in the winter, helping you get through those months where a plague of germs puts you at risk during cold and flu season?
Well, here are some tips to help you survive those common winter bugs, and it starts with your oral health.

When you’ve been sick, replace your old toothbrush for a new toothbrush – once you’ve gotten over the cold or flu, you should get a new toothbrush or risk reinfecting yourself every time you clean your teeth.
OR
Sanitize your toothbrush – any oral health supplies, whether it’s a toothbrush, or tools that help with flossing, can be sanitized. This will help you avoid the risk of getting yourself reinfected.

Stay hydrated to avoid your mouth from drying too much – Dry mouth is common in colds and flu as you breathe through your mouth instead of your nose which could get really stuffy. Yet, did you know that dry mouth increases your risk of cavity and the proliferation of bacteria? So keep yourself hydrated to help increase saliva production.

Stick to your brushing and flossing routine no matter how tired you are – When you’re sick, feeling really tired may hinder you from doing your usual oral hygiene routine. We understand how it’s tough to get sick but never ever skip your brushing and flossing routine for your teeth’s sake!
