To All of My Wonderful Patients,
I am wishing you a joyous holiday season and a Happy New Year! I want to express my heartfelt appreciation and gratitude for trusting me with your dental care for so many years.
I am announcing two changes in the coming new year. First, I am merging with another office close to our current Covington location. My new partners will be Dr. Lucas Kim and Dr. Justin Kim (brothers). The address is 17265 SE Wax Road, Covington, WA. This transition will be effective as of January 2025. You can still call us and make appointments on our same phone number (253-852-3929).
I chose to partner with Dr. Lucas and Dr. Justin because they share many of the same qualities of patient care that have been and still are important to me. I look forward to introducing you to them. They are both very professional, down to earth, and approachable.
The second change is that I will be officially retiring at the end of 2025. It is sad to be seeing the end of my professional days spent doing what I have loved so much. I will very much miss the regular chairside talks and keeping caught up with each of you. I am looking forward to more time traveling to visit my grandchildren as well as other pursuits.
I plan to continue to take care of all my patients at our new location. Of course, I want to introduce you to Dr. Lucas and Dr. Justin, but I want you to know that you will be able to
make appointments to see me throughout the coming year. I look forward to seeing you at our new location and continuing to provide the quality, caring dental care you have received over the years.
Wishing a Happy New Year!
Sincerely,
Dr. Neal Wanner

Dr. Wanner's dearest wife Jeanette Wanner passed away peacefully at home on Saturday.
Thank you everyone for loving and serving Jeanette through her cancer journey and helping our family in countless ways.
For those of you who are interested in attending funeral services, the information is listed below. We've also attached a copy of her obituary.

Our dearest Jeanette Marie Gomes Wanner, resident of Kent, WA passed away peacefully at home on Saturday July 8th after nearly five years of treatment for lung cancer.

Jeanette was born on April 15, 1956 on the island of Oahu to Peter August Gomes Jr. and Kathryn Joan Cambra. As a military family they had the opportunity to live in Hawaii, Germany, Texas, Colorado, and again in Hawaii before settling in Washington. Jeanette was a devoted sister to her 3 brothers and 4 sisters. She graduated from Kentridge High School in 1974.

Jeanette married her cherished husband Neal Bradley Wanner, on August 18, 1977 in the Salt Lake City Utah Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She is survived by Neal, their two children: Christine (Jeremy) Hall of Rigby, ID and Braden (Caitlyn) Wanner of Ashton, ID; and 4 adored grandchildren: Lily, Anne, Thomas, and Joseph Hall. In addition, Jeanette is survived by four siblings Cheryl (Andrew) Rist, David (Debbie) Gomes, Margaret (Glen) Doll, and Deborah Ossiander, as well as her beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and dearest friends she has loved like family. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings Peter August Gomes III, Joseph Gomes, and Lucia Elli.

For over 35 years Jeanette and Neal have worked side by side to establish and grow his dental practice in Kent. Caring for their patients and staff came naturally to Jeanette. In the early years of the practice, she taught herself how to run the front desk, manage the books and payroll for the office, fill in as a dental assistant, and more. She created an office environment that felt like a home. Decorating the office seasonally and for special holidays brought Jeanette so much happiness. Her touches were seen in every corner of the dental practice and were appreciated by patients and staff. Jeanette and Neal saw the practice as a family venture and were life partners in their roles to facilitate its operation.

One of Jeanette’s favorite ways to add beauty to the world was through music. She studied piano from a young age and was a natural singer. In her teen years she discovered a love of choral singing through experiences in church and high school. That love led her to become a self-taught conductor. Her ability to portray the feeling of any piece of music and extract it from the choirs she conducted was a special gift. Jeanette began a long standing tradition of Christmastime sing-in performances of Handel’s Messiah, hosted by the Kent Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She filled the role of conductor and learned so much in the years she produced and directed Messiah in this area. The orchestral knowledge and connections she gained from Messiah allowed Jeanette the opportunity to stand as pit director for many Broadway musicals put on by the Kent Stake. She loved working with youth and adults to put on shows. Her goal was to bring out the best in all the performers. For over two decades, Jeanette and Neal sang as members of the Rainier Chorale. Weekly rehearsals, serving on the board, and providing decorations for concerts and special events gave Jeanette years of fulfillment.

Jeanette and Neal shared great adventures together throughout their marriage. Among their favorites were the many Harley motorcycle trips with the Thulins, Colemans, Muirs, Hoisingtons, Halls, and Stringers. Those trips fostered lifelong friendships through unforgettable experiences. Jeanette was never a fan of being on the bike, but she willingly drove the support vehicles. She enjoyed the sweet memories, goofy antics, and strong bonds of friendship resulting from their Harley gang.

Jeanette counted her greatest blessings as her testimony of Jesus Christ and membership within His Church, her marriage to Neal, their children, and grandchildren. To know Jeanette is to know true grace, boundless generosity, and radiant beauty. To have been unfailingly and unconditionally loved by her is a precious gift we will treasure forever.

Funeral services will be held at the Kent Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - 12817 SE 256th Street Kent, WA 98030 on Monday July 17. There will be a viewing from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. and the funeral will begin at 12:00 p.m.
The interment service will be the following day, Tuesday July 18 at 10:00 a.m. at Mountainview Cemetery - 2020 Mountainview Drive Auburn, WA 98001.

Many of you have heard about the fire that devastated our building. Thank you, to all of you who have reached out to us. It is believed that a homeless person lit a fire in the recycle bin close to our back door. Maybe they were trying to get warm, who knows? The fire ignited the wood edge of our roof and quickly spread into the under supports of the metal roof-completely burning the entire under structure. Someone called 911 and the fire department quickly arrived and put out the fire in about 45 minutes. We got the terrible news at about 3 a.m. and rushed to our office. The ceiling had to be broken out in many rooms so that the firefighters could shoot water into the roof. The floors are covered in a mash of wet plasterboard, burned attic storage (all my holiday decorations), light fixtures, wires, and who-knows-what. Our work of 37 years up in smoke. By a miracle, our patient charts were saved. No one was injured. Now the long work of recovery is beginning. We are leaning heavily on our faith in the Lord, the Rock of our lives. We are trying to get our server up and running so that we can proceed. There are so many unknowns, but what we do know is that our Savior loves us and has a plan for our lives. We only want to live that plan each day

The Greatest Compliment Our Patients Can Give Us is the Referral of Their Friends and Family! One question that our current patients frequently ask is, “Are you accepting new patients?“. The answer to that is YES, we love seeing the friends and family of our current patients.

If you tell friends and family about our office, we want to say Thank you! We not only want to thank you, but once they have had their first visit with us, we want to send you a gift card as a token of our appreciation.

It’s getting close to the end of the year. If your dental insurance plan, like most is on a calendar year, you will lose out on all unused benefits after December 31st.
That means this is a great time of year to take advantage of everything your dental insurance provides, especially if you have outstanding treatment. Call us to schedule right away as our schedule is filling up fast!

We have had a couple patients call the office saying they seen recent news coverage indicating that non-urgent dental care in Washington state will be suspended starting December 3. This information is incorrect! Non-urgent dental care in Washington is NOT being suspended.
Please rest assure, all of our patient's safety is our foremost concern. We want to reassure you that we are following guidelines from the American Dental Association (ADA), Washington State Dental Association (WSDA), CDC, and Washington State Department of Health to keep our patients and team healthy and safe. To date, according to the CDC, there has been no documented transmission of COVID-19 in a clinical dental setting.
Oral health is integral to your overall health. We look forward to safely welcoming you to our office.
