There’s nothing better than treating a smile you see everyday! This is our treatment coordinator Katie🧜🏼‍♀️. She didn’t like her large black triangle (the black space between her two front teeth). She also had crowding, a reverse smile arc (back teeth lower than front teeth in smile) and buccal corridors (teeth aren’t filling the space in the smile due to narrow arch form. With clear aligners and selective tooth reshaping with IPR (interproximal reduction), we eliminated the black triangle, improved smile arc, and broadened the smile to fill the buccal corridors. Now we have the perfect model to show our patients as Katie walks them through their own smile journeys!

This patient came to us with a severe maxillary deficiency (small upper jaw), both transversely (narrow) and anterior-posteriorly (back in the face) with severe crowding. Thinking her only options were extractions and surgery, Dr. Freelove implemented MARPE expansion, reverse pull headgear, and braces to achieve orthopedic change (skeletal growth) and accomplish a life-changing result for this patient without needing extractions or surgery. With skeletal anchorage and a provider with knowledge in its use and in dentofacial orthopedics, many things are possible..

Great results start with setting the foundation and setting up the case with the end in mind. In this case, the patient had a narrow maxilla (upper jaw/palate) that was skeletally expanded with MARPE (Mini-screw assisted rapid palatal expansion). Brackets were placed to showcase incisal display (full display of upper front teeth) and accentuate smile arc. In the right cases, expansion helps provide both a functional and esthetic smile. PC

This patient came to our office missing One of her front teeth! Instead of setting up for an implant in the future, Dr. Freelove recognized that her lateral incisors and canines could be camouflaged to mimic her missing front teeth. Combined with with laser treatment after braces to treat gummy smile and short tooth length, our patient couldn’t believe those aren’t actually her front teeth! No matter the problem, we can discuss your options and come up with a solution that works for you.

Our patient came to us with concerns of crowding and a narrow upper arch and wanted a discreet treatment option. With MARPE (mini implant assistant rapid palatal expander) and clear aligners, we were able to broaden his smile and correct his crowding and crossbite. MARPE is a great option for adults and teens that missed the opportunity to expand as young children. .
